Booti Booti, NSW, AU. At last a better NE wind, at least for a while. 6mGTX and 102 Falcon, and even with a weed fin I was catching heaps of weed out wide. Good fun blasting around with friends!

Gosford, NSW, AU - Survival sailing this afternoon, NE 15-25 with NNE bullets of 30+ plus a 2' chop made it pretty hairy today! Lucky not to stack on a few times but came really close. Sailed with Paul Davies who agreed it was over the top. The Cohen brothers were also out on their wave gear and were doing some nice B & J.

NP 6.5 V8 + Extreme 100L + JP 31cm weedie.

Good to come back in without any damage or injuries this session.

Gosford, NSW, AU Caroline Bay. Big NE that turned N and nasty. Had a couple of reaches that were OK then wind turned N coming over the hills with massive gusts (the bottom of the wind waves) crashing down on us, sometimes backwinding us, sometimes lifting the sail and board. Worst vertical component in the wind (wind shear) we have experienced. Wayne and I decided it was too scary to keep sailing and that has only happened a few times in 30 years!

Nice sail, was all over the place to start with, mast foot too far back (thanks Micky). Much better than staying back at work, but will have to make up for it for the rest of the week.

Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Great session, with a great crowd. Good to meet Glynn, a true gentleman and a classy sailor. Really enjoyed today. Robbed of a few tenths on my 2 sec, but never thought I would get to 37 ever so I am one happy chappy. 7.3m HSM GPS, X-Fire 105L, 21 MUF Delta.

Wellington Point, QLD, AU 6.7 RS6 falcon113 MXR UFO22. Wanted to test the fin mainly. Was great to have a sail at one of the hot spots. I can see why they get such fast times. Shallow with banks popping up everywhere to zoom along. The fin was a bit small for the gear, though it did work. Spent a lot of time going sideways. Definitely needs a smaller board and flatter water and a slight change in stance.

Great spot and one worth checking out if travelling that way.
