Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU

25-30kt NE with some 30+ gusts. 6.2 RSR, 56 wide custom slalom (Chester), 20cm custom weed fin

Another big turnout at the ramp today. Guy Cribb's class were all practicing there gybes in 30kts of wind. There were some awesome crashes too.

I spent the session sailing the weed bank with about 20 bear aways. The 6.2 was perfect for the extreme angle but it was a bit of pot luck lining up the bigger gusts and then dodging the weed as the water level was dropping. Managed a few 40+ runs and then a 41.09 just before the downhaul pulleys ripped out of my 6.2. I went down to a 5.5evo2 for a few runs but couldn't really get settled. A big crash at 30+kts on the first run didn't help.

All in all a good day. It was good to see Terry and Anebal down at Sanctuary point too.

Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU    Took the journey to see Keefs speed strip and I think I went near it, and saw Keef.

Sanctuary Point, NSW, AU Went down with Terry and had a sail at Sanctuary Point. Caught up with some of the guys from the Gustbusters. Nice spot to sail extremeley windy but couldn't get comfortable. Mark was also there completely flying! Well done on your 41 kn

Primbee. Late in the day, NE wind, gusty up to 20 knots. Very low water - lowest I've seen! Ben & I had to walk out about 200m before we could get going!

First outing of the Reflex 5 6.2m. Great sail - cambers rotate like a dreamSmile.

I had a humungous stack - rapidly accelerating in a gust and took off over the back of a steep section of chop. I was thinking "this is going to hurt", but seconds went by with no impact and then I landed "quite gently" on my back on the sail still hooked in! My eyes were closedYell the whole time so I'm not sure what happened. I'll think of it as an involuntary forward loopLaughing. Fortunately no damge to me or the equipment.

Congarts on the PB Mark. On fire again mate. Is that the 2 sec record for Sanctuary Pt?

Terry and Tex are you getting the travel bug already? I would have been keen to head down too but I was busy banking brownie points for LG.
