Beautiful suuny day but little wind so plodded around in the nice warm clear water at Kurrimine Beach. Got a few runs when wind picked up for a bit but didn't last.

Herby was scooting about and having a good sail, left me for dead.

Cam wish we had some of the wind you got up your way.

Billy and I went to Port to have a sail with young Eddy as the wind forecast looked reasonably good.

Wind never hit the heights forecast but was a most enjoyable day...no rain or showers.

Got a couple of hours in but later learned that Eddy had sailed with a sore back and neck and a headache.

His neck and back injuries caused from not staying upright on a motorcycle.

Anyway ....all had a good day and the company was not to bad either!

RRD 102 ..Loft 6.6 O2

Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Nice little sail at the beach, was a bit of a slog at first, but the wind came in enough to be fun for most of the session.

Used Isonic 90 overdrive 6.7 and C3 S2 34Cool

Port Douglas, QLD, AU Port news..Fast Freddie and Bad Boy Billy came to do a few hot laps..Sun was out and wind was blowing, everyone was talking about a big wind, but i had my doubts and got out the bigest gear i had..117 Isonic Duck, and tired 7.3m north rig..Had a good fun sessionin in13 to16kts but never got out of 'cruize mode' I sailed very flat footed letting the board and rig do all the work..Was not in real good shape,Had a rather major 'wipe out' on my mates dirt bike last weekend and have not had a chance to recover..Think i have to harden up a bit...I would of got my ass kicked totaly if Freddie would of rigged big,and Billy didn't spend so much time molling around on little board before he fired up Trusty old AHD which looks realy hot with his nice new blue 7.5m rig..I was happy to call it a day not long after Freddie retired,Think Billy was keen to keep blasting as wind was getting a bit better, but he came in and said he was on a promise  tonight and wanted to be home before dark..A good day with good company...Cheers Ed..

Port Douglas, QLD, AU

Sorry guys, quickly threw my data up last night b4 I had to head out.

Fred and I decided to head north to Port D to give Ed some play time and with the promise of 15-25 knts (Bloody Livio) along the coast, we wer'nt interested in facing the washing machine conditions of our local Hollaways Beach. Rounded the first bend onto the Captn Cook Hwy headind to tPort and as far as the eye could see - Whitecaps. "You Beauty" was the catch cry...and then Freddy started to sing. Well that was put to bed real quickTongue out

On arrival, checked out the local conditions, beachside and I have to say, it was somewhat dissapointing. 13-15 max with maybe the occasional stronger blast coming through, but over all very under whelming. All the posy kiters were running around like they hadnt seen wind for 6 weeks, yahooing, high fiving each other - couldnt quite see what alll the fuss was about. Any ways, after a breif consultation with the local guru, Big Ed, and then not listening, I decided to rig the 7.5 T4 and the 104 Screamer (first mistake of the day).

Wind was reasonable 15ish for the first 1/2 hr, then really started to waft on and off. Couldnt get my fat ass out of the water and ended up so far north (southerly breeze) of the boys that it took me the next 1hr of wallowing up wind to get back to the rigging area. In the mean time Fast Freddy and Big Ed were smashing it across the ocean. I really do have to admire Fred, who, even in marginal conditions, can really get that RRD XFire 103 to fire with that 6.6 - very nice to watch. He really does caress that board to get every little bit out of it.

Finally got back, had a temper tantrum, swore loudly, and went back to the van to pull out the EHD (Ed's Handme Down)  AHD D125 Diamond GT ( second mistake of thet day was not pulling this out in the first place). By his time , im thinking that Ive probably dropped about 20-30 kms of sailing time and really need to make amends. In the aprent conditions, this choice prooved to be the best of the afternoon. Was never of the plane for the next 2 hrs. With the breeze generally from the south, it was really tough to get any long downwinders in, but I was certainly greatfull to have that wide butt underneath mine, thats for sure.

Finally, lack of TOW took its toll and had to vacate the water, but overall it was a realy nice day. Looks like the strongest winds stayed in and around the Cairns area, but overall not a whole lot to be unhappy about. Good mates, sun was shining and Fred carried my board back to the van Smile. Thanks gents for a great day.

7.5 T4, 104 Screamer and then AHD 125.

Great going guys. Will not even bother posting the session here. The wind looked very promising then dropped on the walk to the water, had about 10 mins. Never mind maybe today.
