Where to begin... well, my 23rd boxing day windsurf in 27 years since I started windsurfing started well enough...

iSonic 90L, Vector Fins 29cm and Maui Sails TRX 6.3 were doing fine, a little small in the lulls, but as the wind strengthened, I was happy I didn't rig bigger!

Then I had one catapult caused by hitting a UFO (Unidentified Floating Object) possibly weed, or according to ROAR, a turtle!
Then a second catapult at top speed down the speedstrip, with a much faster 'landing' caused my cheapo 'carbon' boom to break in 5 places.

The 4th boat picked me up and took me straight to the cops! Despite it being Double Demerits, they acknowledged my affiliation with the Cochroaches, so no charges. Phew.

Strange but fun sail. Wind wasnt what was expected. Johnny and I went out, he went the right way, I didnt. Made it upwind a fair way finally and had some fun if not powered runs down the banks. Pretty choppy at stages and gusty, first time at Budgey in this direction. I was hitting bottom with a 25 weedy, the Delta's were the go today if you wanted flattish water. Wind started dying and I was way underpowered so pulled the plug. Still, a pleasant sail & good to catch up with everyone. Merry Xmas.

Falcon 112, Evo IV 7.0, 25 weedy.

15-20 knot southerly

It was a bit of a light wind sail today, and it was great fun until, bang on 100kns, the sail goes bang.

23rd boxing day sail... and the most memorable? Looks like you were having some fun until that incident.

Certainly one of the most memorable, but the first was still the best. Hail in Canberra probably the worst.
