Falcon Slalom 79, KA Race 6.3, Vector Speed Weed 25cm
I really wanted to do two things today, first get my Falcon Slalom 79 over 40kn as I have had her close 3 times now, and also try for a 35 kn Nm from 5Mile to Cockies. I think taking the 79 today was a good choice as the chop at Cockies was bad and had no pattern to it, and in the middle it was just plain lumpy and nasty, so the bigger tail and fin made it a bit easier to sail over at speed.
Went up to 5mile in prep for my Nm and did a couple of runs in the flat water but I couldn't get in the grove on port tack, felt like the big fin was draging in the mud, and upon inspection it was. Gybed on Port tack at 5Mile and straight into the Nm, which turned out to be an on the edge run but I did it a couple of times to just give myself a chance at a good run. Too hairy to try too many times so I just hung around Cockies and smashed out some runs on Starboard with Geoff Ringe, everybody else up at 5Mile.

Last day at LG. Wind delivered as well. Had three sessions on different kit. Tried AJ's 51 Fanatic speed board and certainly noticed the improvement in speeds. Thanks AJ! May have a buyer for the board!!Happy with the results on the day SE-SSE 25-28k and gusty. I know Mark and Marree as well as Chris got PB's today. Mark cracked the forty knot barrier. Great result and congrats all 'round. Well done guys!! 79,27,5.5, then 51,23,5.5, then 51,23, 5.0.

3564 days ago Lake George, SA, AU. Last sail at Lake George. Wind looked good so took out the 5m Gaastra with my new Carbon Art 83. Had some great fun but got overpowered.Went in for a break and Daffy lent me a 5m Koncept. GPS read 36.36 on the first run so did 2 more but utterly overpowered so called it quits. Sooooooo happy with my top speed and love the new board. Thanks Andy!

3564 days ago Gosford, NSW, AU NE 10-18 knots with the usual chop and gusts. Used my HSM 8.0 GPS with the JP 122L and 36cm weedie, got a PB of 28.24 with this combo today so not a bad session. Paul D joined me a bit later on but missed he best bits. Damn the tide was low today and the walk of mud was a killer, almost...

3563 days ago Gosford, NSW, AU Caroline Bay NE horrible gusty 8-15 knots. Short sail with Wayne Bailey who got some stronger more consistent wind before I hit the water. We didn't like it much, and the walk through the knee deep mud - 100 metres twice to come in (you couldn't carry the board and rig in one go, the mud was too deep) in the hot afternoon sun too. It was a killer. Congrats Wayne on your 28+ knots on the JP Slalom 76w. That's fast for that board in chop.
