Lake George, SA, AU

A bit stronger than yesterday, used  RS1, 5.9 sail, 24 MUF fin  all day & was nicely powered, on the edge at times but never overpowered. Had a bad fall in the rock garden, came down on my shoulder, where is the soft oozing mud when you need it.  Shoulder feels bad tonight but I guess it has a day or 2 to recover as bad forecast tomorrow & Thurs & Sat.

Getting the hang of managing the mud, Andrew could you drop that water pump thingy over tomorrow so I can clean my gear, I think you could sell a few of them here.

Byron, Rick, Hugh & Nicko arrived & went at it full tilt today. Might see some good speeds frpm them although they were still out when I left, might  have to wait for them to post. Sue leaves tomorrow, she was going well.

I would love to sail here when it flat as it is supposed to be normally, is good when rough buit flat would be something special

Lake George, SA, AU 6.6tr9 maui RS2 then the 44 CA BP28 weed speed

first day sail at LG alot of mud and then some very rough carnt get any speed with water that rough under done on 6.6.

couldnt belive I did those KM in that short of time.

I was 50 min into the hr and hit the rock garden took 5 min to get out and fin was damaged so could have been alot higher but I was realy going for speed not the hr anyway.

tried some alphas and they felt like shit not enough wind when you came out to put on the gas there was nothing and kept hiting mud it slows you down big time and sends you over the front as I found out.

hope it improves alot

20-25kt S - 5 mile Lake George, SA, AU

79ltre falcon - 5m OD - 25cms Lessacher fin then 50ltre isonic speed board.

Last day. Hoping to up my 2 sec but not strong enough..funny a few weeks ago I would have been doing handsprings to get that speed in that wind..UndecidedLaughing. Actually that is a PB speed for that strength of wind.

Had fun! Bit all over the place sailing wise but flashes of brilliance..went down to Cockie's overpowered in the chop had the fin slide out and got it back in and handled well..confidence has improved heaps as I wouldn't have been game to do that at the start of the trip.Good to see Bruce, Byron, Nick and Hugh out chewing up the lake..

Found the rock garden 1st time..Actually surprising seeing how far out it extends-you can see where I hit by my track middle RHS..funny it's safe in closer to the opposuite shore higher up..

Daffy got some footage of me doing a run in the speed strip..Yay! I finally have some video of me speed sailing..I can retire tomorrow now..Wink

Great trip a few regrets...didn't take Daffy up on the offer of taking out his 87 isonic and 5.4m gear one day, didn't do another run on the windy day ( I'll do that next windy day ..grr wasn't one..Undecided ) . Next time I'll just take every chance I get..

Hope I can get down again! I'll never complain about the mud at Budgy again!

Mmmm mud...yum...

I took a short video of Byron and one of Hugh that I'll post later..

Going for distance and another hour. One would think it was better to stay out on the water than wade in through that mud!!

Grats nonetheless :-)

Well done with the PBs, nice numbers guys!

Good to see you taking it easy on day one Byron. Save yourself for the big days. Don't do more than 200 km a day.

Hope you all have a good week.

Glad you guys made it safely and a good start - our best team session for the month.  Hope you get some wind over the week and some of the LG glass appears for you.

Nice Nautical Sue, worryingly close to my best! Sounds like you had a good time over there. Can't complain you PBed in all six categories.

See you at Budgie soon hopefully

I see you are wearing two GPS units. I would be very interested to know how close the results are from the units. Do you post the average or the best results?

Thanks Andrew..wish I hadn't stuffed up my hr  pulling out at 50 mins - reckon it would have been about a 20kt hr..Undecided- Re GPS's pick the one that has the best results generally and post it.Both were within .2 or .02 of each other in each category ( for this session).

Hope we get some wind but I want to try the falcon out in Lake Macquarie as well and see how I go. I always thought slalom boards would be more uncomfortable than freerides but so long as it's powered up enough to ride on the fin the falcon is lovely and smooth ( just have to be fit enough to ride it like that).

Now I know how you guys sail so well( not that I'm in your league..) ..sailing fitness certainly helps! I wish I could get out on consecutive days
