What a lovely sail! Bit underpowered could have rigged the 7.5m but was stronger as rigging. Mainly 10-15kts with occasional puff more.Felt like a cruisey sail so ok with 7m. I bought the 7m for these conditions and it rotated well today ( pilot error last time ) so it is ideal..
Got to practise tips from LG and practise getting upwind underpowered ( dropped off the plane a bit). I had a decent fin - yay! Even got the freemove riding off the fin in small chop of the sand islands - felt brilliant! The chop was only small for Coal and some decent gusts over at the islands + flat water.
The aplha gybe was a nice planing one but lost all wind on the exit leg and off the plane for a while- bummer as would have been good.
I headed towards Tortonto a few times but too underpowered Sand islands were better.
Geoff + Alwyn out and both had lovely sails.
Lovely to be able to sail wherever you wanted and have a decent fin!
Went to Coal rather than Budgy as felt like a cruise + could visit mother in nursing home afterwards.Time for an indian takeaway now.. My idea of a perefct evening!
