Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Quickie at the beach incase Eddy sailed at Green and needed something/someone to back him up.

Wind line was out a bit when I started but come in to the beach while I was sailing.

Wind was good but started to drop off/spit rain  as I left.

Green Island, QLD, AU

Great day at green Island to day with ED and Andrew, who are still there. It pored with rain loding up this morning and pored again unloading this evening so drove home in wet cloths.  The rain kept away from green most of the day except for a small shower diring lunch.  With the strong forcast I lef the exocet at home and took the Fanatic Cross CX 90 that hoppy Bob kindly sold me a few weeks back. In the morning I sailed fully powered up with my old North 5.0  and spent most of the time changint the positions of the footstraps.  I think I have them where I want them now.  After lunch I rigged a 6.2 A Severne Override that Toody lent me for a look at.  Wow!! what a great sail plenty of power and controll , I am impressed. I think my top speed of the day was done using the overdrive during the 3 quick runs I did before having to pack up and leave the boys to it.

Onya lads. Thats what I like about you Freddy, always thinking about the team. Typical story though, work is playing havoc with my social life. No chance of getting out until the weekend.

Spoke to Big Ed last night. He should have a story or two to tell from Green Island. I guess I can say good night to my collection of balls from the beginning of the month Wink

Hello from Kurramine, Mandy and I decided to come camping at Kurramine for an extended weekend  -- if the wind stays up we will stay until Sunday if anyone fancies a run down here. Today it was about 16-18 kn all day and fine and sunny -- Hard to believe I know !! I sailed for a couple of hours but did not have the GPS, thinking I wouldnt be near a computor for a few days. Went straight to the waves and had a ball. Mandy sailed for an hour or so in the late arvo. We are down near the pub -- so heading over for a few coldies.

see  ya

'The GI Story'...Was sent to Green Island on a' Mission from God',.Was rigged and ready to go for a blast 10.30.Had my wing man Andrew with me and Ian came down from the hills to give me a run for my momey..Tried to get the rest of the crew over but they either had better offers, or had real jobs to go too..Wind was a solid 20kts with some good gust coming through just to spice things up a bit..Did one tune up lap on 97lt Isonic with burnt out 6.6m North rig cranked down hard, and headed to the easten drag strip with the boys in hot pursuit..only got a couple of good runs and large amounts of seaweed started to appear as the tide dropped and spoilt all our fun..So it was back out the front to play in the choppy stuff which was realy good fun as well..Isonic felt unreal and was maxed out till 2 oclock..Ian was having a great blast and looked evey much in control..Andrew sailed the best i have seen him go,He was on a new 121lt free ride board which we road tested the afternoon before,Back in' PD' Apparently Cam said it would be a good board for him, think he was right on the money with that one..I had a  quick spin on it and thought it was a very smooth and friendly board to sail but didnt think it would have much speed..But Andrew had it cranking with a 6m sail and i had to work hard to run him down a couple of times..i was surprised it was so quick...I was a little frustrated while having lunch,Had 29.6kts on the dial and didnt want to go home with out getting 30kts..After lunch i did the 'unthinkable' and changed my very grunty and much loved 38cm fin for a much thinner one a '38 nitro 'which i have never liked as i get major spin outs with it and it has no drive in it at all ,I have always 'lost the plot' when using it in other boards...Attempted a few more speed runs in the chop fin was hanging in great on this board and i finally mamaged to drag my sorry ass over the water a bit over 30kts end of the session got it to 31.8 but it came back to 31kts..Ian tested one of Toodys go fast sail and had it absolutly smoking ,will be surprised if he doesn't buy it..Was packed up and back at the bear garden by 5 oclock skulling free beer with Andrew ,we where both happy men with our lovely wives sipping champain beside us..Andrew had a quick sail the next day i was happy on the beach with the girls... A sucessfull GI Mission..
