Port Douglas, QLD, AU

Great sail with Ian , Eddy and Andrew (Eddy's new wing man)

Started with a call from Ian ...so decided to make the effort and head to Port.

Got there about 12:30...Ian was set up  and we were both on the water around 1:00.

Decided to use the SL55 as my van was rocked a bit on the way up with the wind gusts

but the wind was not that strong on the water......15,16 with maybe 18,20 knots gusts.

Eddy arrived a little late but certainly looked the goods once on the water and is still

probably sailing  now. Wink "I've got to have the same as what he is having".....

All in all a great afternoon and great company

Port Douglas, QLD, AU ..Yeah ,fun session with the boys this arvo..Wind was solid felt close to 20kts most of the time and sea was a bit rougher than usual had a strong tide running think that was stirrng things up a bit..wind got a bit violent in the last quarter which kept things interesting.'.97 lt Isonic Turbo Duck'never put a foot wrong all arvo with 6.6m North rig, Toody gave me a 36cm Sting fin when i was at GI last week and said it was the right tool for the job,was keen to try it out..As usual he was spot on..Fin felt solid and easy to sail with, first time i have used a fin that small on a power house rig...Good fun session..Think everyone went home happy...Cheers Ed..

Glad to hear you all had a great day at Pt D. I`m down at Kurramine camping near the pub with Sharyn, we went out this arvo for a few hours but the wind was a little dissapointing only barely 15 kn -- planing most of the time but hard work. Will have to look out for Herb -- maybe your back home Herb ?? It is very windy tonight with an occational light shower  -- here`s hoping for tomorrow.

Kel, did you launch from the resort camp ground - had a cranking se the day we were there and it looked promising although wedge island looked like it would create a wind shadow.

PS you'll never get to 20000k's before me if you keep doing 2k sessions Wink

Yep Snags, Wind looked good from the beach and the trees were going nuts! It looked like it was consistent near the land bridge between wedge and the beach,, but once out i realised the wind was too easterly and i had to ride the 10 second gusts and try to stay afloat in the 30sec calm until the next one, not much fun.
