Area 45, Mahers Landing, VIC, AU

JP Super Sport Pro 118 + 6.6 Koncept (should've rigged the 5.7 !), 33cm Stock JP Fin.

Chasing the wind... didn't realise it was NW, thought it was WNW ! lol

Back run of Area 45 with Postie, Daz & Antoine... Nice on the flats - really broad on the chop :)

Now THAT was a fun sail. I'm now a northerly convert. Massive walk through the shallows - a bit Lake George-ish, but worth it.

Cool

Launched from the Horse. 110 Manta, 7.5 Koncept, 38 Volt. Nice and powereded upLaughing Made a few gybes is the steep chopLaughing Met two others for a bit of company on the waterLaughing Got back-winded on one gybe, flung up in the air just as the board capsized, landed on the fin tip with my kneeYell Wetsuit ok, but had to gaffer up my knee to stay on the water. Nice bruise today combined with Mother's Day means no sailing. Should be right for Brass Monkey Challenge thoughWink

Hmmm, was it worth the drive to Doyles Daz?  Looking at the tracks you sailed the regular channel anyway.  May as well have sailed from 45 and had a small beat upwind at the end - leaving a short walk rather than a hike through mud.

Was it worth the drive Dan? Parma and pot by the fire at the Tarwin with Postie and Mick --> absolutely!!! But otherwise - dunno! Probably yes. We had clean wind over there. Gusty at 45. I probably wouldn't have launched the 66 litre from 45 in the fear of not getting back. And the 66 was perfect. Kempsta, Tiges and I didn't really 'rate it' earlier at 45 and since we made the drive, it at least got us on the water. How much of a walk did you have at the end Roy?

Yeah we managed to get back to the boat ramp... Took a little work as tide and wind pushed us down a bit, but we got there. Reckon it was just as easy to rig at 45 and sail over, than drive all the way around and sail back... Really interesting that was a NW, I thought it was a WNW... A little gusty, but not too bad :)
