25 (14457km): Cold gusty outing at Melville. Plenty out though. Never really did what the forecast said but good fun all the same. Got a couple of nice runs up close into lucky bay where is was just mildly choppy! RSR E4 6.4, RRD Xfire 98 V6, 31 Sonntag 'SL-R' [very nice fin - thanks Shane].
Slowboat (49332km): Liptons. Not the place to be today but it was nice to have a sail on the 5.5m and SP95 with 23cm Tribal SPW. Was too westerly so wind was coming off the land and the tide was high so not very flat where the wind line was. Sailed over to Pt grey and did some runs there. Super gusty where the water got shallowest (almost waist deep) so fastest runs were heading into the chop. Fastest peaks in very short gusts in the lee of the trees. Sailed back in biggest gust of the day. Good fun. Really hard to find a gust on the other side but did hit a 40 heading out into the channel markers and had an OK one for fastest 10sec. Nothing like a SSWer but better than nothing! I'll try harder next time not to waste good wind like that. Was a bit too lazy to go to the chook pond. Might need to find more energy for next time!
Spock (628km): Gnarly day at Melville!! Totally Overcooked on the 7.1 with a 69 wide f2 and 40 fin. Too scared to bare off!! |
