Cottesloe, WA, AU

First time sailing at Dutchies. Got there just after 8 and Mark and JJ were already hitting the waves. The wind was a bit variable but enough to have some fun.

Its amazing how much power you can get from the small wave sails.

Naish Global 96 Tushie 5.7 and I lost my fin on the rocks. but still fun.

Early session at the Inn (although not as early as Jonah who got the best of it).

Great to have a guest appearance from Mr Rider himself.

Waves not as good as yesterday but some good breeze out the back. JJ couldn't resist a few fanging downwind runs even on the wavegear.

GE 6.2, Rider Quad.

Pelican Point, WA, AU

Got there about 9:00am and it was cold and blowing strongly, then dropping, then blowing, so I had a chat while decidng what to rig.

Finally decided 6.6m but then it dropped more, so a slow sail resulted. Should have gone straight away.

Wind picked up just as I unrigged.

A surprise after work session. I wasn't expecting any wind this afternoon but when I saw 20 knots on seabreeze I scotted on down. Of course the wind dropped just as I got on the water, but I had packed my big board, so I changed to that and had a very pleasant blast around practicing gybes. They are still improving. I don't get the dead stops in the middle like I used to. A bit surprised that my best was 14 knots, as I planed all the way around in at least one, but as the entry speeds were only around 14 - 16 knots, thats not too bad.

Good to catch up with Sean, Andrew and JJ

Early session on the wave gear with Tailwind and Lao at Dutchies, good fun when the wind came in at about 10. Good to see Tailwind ripping on his first go there.

Got home for lunch, the wind started cranking at S Freo. Couldn't relax so took the small board to Melville expecting the same wind, hit the water at 3 and got nicely skunked Laughing

Good to see Anita cranking some nice gybes and nice to catch up with Sean.

Stoked to finally get back on the water. It was a short but very sweet session!

Thought id try a new set up and went to for the 115l PAtrik, the 7.5m Koncept and (the new piece) a 33cm CL. Whilst i was a bit underfinneed when trying to go upwing and i did spin out a couple of times im surprised how easy it was to sail this fin compared to the 40cm Vector id normally put on this board with this sail..

Anyhoo - PB alpha and faster than JJ.... I think it will be a good season :) :)
