Quick sail after work with Glynn, Jemo, Ian, Jo, Simon and Clive. Missed the best of the wind but still had fun. Put into practice Simon's advise to look toward the clew of the boom when gybing - it works, I can go round corners again, albiet not quite as fast as I'd like to.

7.8 Metre 115L JP. Last to head out. Hit a turtle and snapped the mast base in all in one. Took 1.5 hours of swimming and walking through Thornside mud to get to land. Thanks to all looking out for me. Saw Shane shining his car lights over Thornside but he still couldnt see me. Dark as out there at 8pm.

Hit the turtle about 6:30pm. Glad it happend on the NE side as I could touch the bottom for some of the way in. Mind you every time I kicked something that felt soft I thought it was a shark. Must have got thrown onto my mast as the ribs are sore today. Got home at 9pm. Windsurfing is an extreme sport!

Ian and I left Wello Point just before 6.30pm. At that time there was only a couple windsurfers and I kiter left in the car park and they were nearly ready to leave also. See Glynn's posting on Facebook, sailing without a buddy at that time is risky. We are very releived your misadventure ended well. Hope the ribs heal quickly. Looking forward to seeing on the water soon. the forecast for the weekend is looking good.
