Probably the hardest 25k's I've done, gusty, choppy, waves, etc etc. Was pretty extreme when I went out but settled down a bit as I came in.
I'll sleep well tonight, must be showing my age!
Used Exocet 90L, old Aerotech Savage 4.6 and new BP 30.

Muck around day with the girls at Elanda. Lots of gear experimentation in the stronger winds up to 20kts. Got to have another go on Barbie's 2016 Starboard Futura 90 and smashed my previous Lake Cootharaba PB (on a speed board), so really stoked with that!
TimTam was looking very comfy on the wave gear and managed a few PB's while doing the "woohoo" thing... Another enjoyable day.

Family commitments precluded a trip north, so after chores in the morning, I headed down to The Train on the Broadwater to catch the outgoing tide. The wind was foxing when I arrived and contrived to convince me to rig the 7.1 and 112 board. As soon as I hit the water it increased 5 to 10 kts to 20 to 25kts. I soldiered on and although severely overpowered had a really good sail. The speed run was flat but very short, so you really had to time the run with gusts. Tried some alphas and was rewarded with my first 20kt alpha in queensland. Finished the day with a beer with Phil, Shannon, Hanu. Jas and afew other goldie locals in the park. All in all a very good afternoon. Looking forward to more of the same tomorrow.

Wasn't going to go out but thought I'd better take the plunge. My last time on the water was May so I'm feeling the effects and very unfit. Most people were coming in as I headed out. Greg ran over to say it had picked up a little so I was even more nervous. Couldn't manage a gybe to save myself as I just didn't have the strength. Hit the water at 3pm and it picked up a little as the session went on. At a guess there was some good 30knot busters pumping through so just kept everything together and not one stack which was lucky. Very happy with the speed through the roughness of Viccy Point. Damn that was fun. Might have to sell all the modern slalom gear as my 90's stuff works just fine. Old F2 Axxis 261 85L and Old Neilpryde VX LTD 5.5m. Good to be back on the water. Bring on Friday (New Years Day).
