3266 days ago Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU nice NE 15-20 knots with plenty of guys out having fun, including Johnnie, Jono, Pete, Pugs, Troy and later on a few more after 4pm Matty, graham, Lyndon & Paul D.
6.6 GPS + CA SL55 + 19 cm Delta. Felt good in the gusts but small in the lulls.
Much better session than yesterday's woeful effort. Much happier now.......

On the Freeride gear. It isnt as fast as the slalom gear I used to have, but it's easy sailing and fun.
Wind was pretty gusty, but still good. Lots of guys out.

Great day for the GPS Freerace Event today, Nor-easter filled in before lunch and sailed on the weed bank.
Sailed the 101 Falcon all day to float through the light wind close to shore, started with 8.0 GTX and 35cm BP weedfin for the first session until started to overpower.
Second and third session used 7.0 GTX and 32cm BP weedfin which felt good in the stronger wind but didn't last long for the third session as the downhaul rope slipped through the cleat.
Thanks James and Byron and everyone else who helped organise the event and series, didn't get to meet everyone but great to see a lot of people sailing.

3266 days ago 1 categories Wallis Lake, NSW, AU The GPS Freerace event at the Great Lakes Sailing Club venue went off well after a dodgy start to the weather. Saturday had very light winds so only free sailing was on offer.Dinner at the ''Reckky" and a few cordials went down well.
Sunday the noreaster filled in nicely by late morning at about 15-18k, and 15-22k by the afternoon.Three half hour sessions (plus)were quite taxing for this old body, but good to have so many sailors out making the most of the conditions. Nice to catch up with familiar faces and new ones too. Thanks to James and Byron for organising the weekends sailing and the sponsors for the t-shirts and prizes.
Tried to make the most of the flat water out on the weed bank with the 104,34 BP weedy and KA7.0 in the first session, then moved down to the 93 Hawk and 10.5"Weedy, and KA 6.6. for the other two.I couldn't squeeze much more out of the setup, but enjoyed trying. Well done to everyone with some great results on the day.

Looking at my tracks i didnt use enough of the lake and too many turns , good learning curve for next time i do this style of racing , well done to all that sailed on the weekend
