Unfortunately there was not much wind either to start with. It was very southerly and came every five to ten minutes from 0 to 20 knots. Almost like a westerly. I used the big board and practised my gybes between the reef and shore and again all the panache I had acquired practising on the rig I set up in my backgarden, flew out the window. I definitly need some flat water and some steady moderate wind, while I am getting the hang of this. When I was coming in Simon and Glynn showed up, so I went out on the smaller board to keep them company. The wind was now from the south east and a bit more steady and of course it was lumpier. I can't sail in these condition and only managed to get 23 kt on the small board, while Glynn did 33kt in the same gust. But it was good gybe practise

Great fun with bump and jump (more like bunnie hops) gear in the Wello SE slop. Vando was right about the ramps out the back, who would have thought you'd get 2 metre rolling swells on Morton Bay. One of Vando's jumps was at least half mast high. Didn't wear my GPS so no results.
