First post for the bogans and first days sailing at Lake George with Chris and Norm. The southern lake is very shallow Jimbob was sailing it yesterday with a couple of others but short fin. We launched from the end of the spit and it wasn't too much of an effort to get out and the water in the northern lake was chest deep, bit choppier than we had hoped but when the wind kicked in could run the spit, only realised that for my last run when I got the peak, will be looking for that run again during the week. Arrived here yesterday but by the time we set up camp and weren't sure where to sail, and it was probably 30 k we decided to Walt till today. we weren't sure we were even going to get a sail the lake is that low, but the northern lake is OK once you get out there, not real flat water though. Looks like wind pretty much every day this week so looking forward to some good sailing with Chris and Norm. 5.2 Hellcat on Exercet 58. 15 increasing to 20 plus. Was too light early to get powered up but once rigged it's a real effort to come back and re rig

Stansbury, SA, AU

Another great time with the guys.

Tried hard for a good hour and was not bad. Hard work beating over the chop though. Was great having all the sailers here this weekend. Brought the bay to life. Smile

2nd day at Stansbury.  Another cracker day with all 4 of us Bogans attempting an hour.  Missed A gybe and had to clean weed off twice but still happy with result.  Had a few bearaways at the end but we were all stuffed from yesterday so called it quits and it was beer oçlock.

Thanks Tricky and Hoppy for the beers'and the laughs and usual shit Sam lol.

Another cracker  day @ Stansbury, Rode the same gear 5.6 Loft 26 CWSSW Isonic 86, 2nd day realy started to get a bunta work out, feel like I need some more good work out sessions, seemed to run out of fuel & could not wait till the hour was upEmbarassed, Hoppy & I usually smash out 90min or more to make sure we get the hour. Tongue out. Was a solid session with 4 sailors smashing round the circuit, each pushing trying to over take the sailor in front, where I was busting my arse just keeping them from catching meUndecided. Water was a bit messy today making iyt a lot harder work. All in All a Bunta DayCool

Thanks for the feedback on the lake. Pity about the depth..

The northern lake is fine although the only flat water is running the spit. Getting out from the end of the spit is easy compared to Launching from half way along the spit. I wasn't sure if it would be worth coming but I reckon it is

Well done geoff I sailed surf beach today and probably will all week.

Actually just read your story about running the spit. Sounds like its good BUT you didn't say there's no water for a couple hundred metres out. Someone needs to take some pictures too show how crap it is.

Jimbob the walk out on the northern side at the end of the spit is only 50 metres or a bit more to the water. It is a lot easier than the southern side. It certainly is not as good as we are all used to, but worth the effort. Probably won't catch you again this week then, catch you next time.
