kato (37642km): Inverloch, VIC, AU The SGYC race to the mouth of the Tarwin and back.....almost. Daffy and I raced with the tandem in 0 to 6 kts of wind against 6 other windsurfers and a heap of yachts. No rules except go around the end mark and back. The others were on, SUPs with centerboards, one without, Mistral race board, Touring board and a Formular board. We finished third after lots of missadventure, sandbars and rule bending "Port" beats "Starboard" when your sailing a "super tanker" Thanks all, thanks Daffy we'll get them next year. Starboard tandem, Koncept 9.5, Koncept 8.5, 700mm/400mm Drake | ||||||||||||||||||
Sailquik (29582km): What Kato said! Just posted his results again. Great fun despite a big tactical error looking for the wrong turning mark and going with the 70cm Formula fin which had us running aground all the time until we stopped and changed it for the fat 40cm. We need more of these and if you include longboards and raceboards in the mix, it proves there is no wind limit. Next year we have to do one at Sandy Point. to the entrance, up to Yannakie and back and invite the Yacht club as well.
Map from my GW-52 which, because of 5hz, had slightly higher peak speed of just over 13 knots! LOL!
