Mr Love (6877km): Ricketts Point, VIC, AU Nice late easterly so headed to Ricketts. All the usual crew there. Around 20 knots so went Koyote 6.6 and the Tabou 3S 106. The board felt alot better with the Powermax 32 in it, the stock fin is a sea anchor. However the board and I are yet to start our love affair, not a patch on its little brother the 3S 86. I feel another board design coming on !!! Pleasant session but felt crook after an OZ day lunch and beers. Had the projectile vomit half way through the sesh and came good after that!!! Sailquik (29582km): A nice Easterly here at the PiT today but high tide about 3.30pm, so I went for a quick blast at about midday in the boat hole until the tide covered the sandbar. The wind was gusting 20-30 on my Gauge before I went home to get my gear but I was quite underpowered on the 5.4m and CA40 so after a best peak of 33 knots on my very first run I gave up after a few more. Edit: Oh I just realised I was running a Starboard tack assy on Port tack! DUH... Went back again at 6.45pm to find the tide just exposing the East Bank. Perfect! Dont have to worry about the shallow bits for at east an hour! Same gear but still didn't latch onto a gust on the course. It was a very gust wind. 20 knots with breif gusts to 30. I recon there was a low 40's run if I had been lucky enough to snag a gust, but barely just peaked over 40 once as it was. Good to get a blast though and one of the very few speed sessions I will ever get at Sandy being perfectly comfortable in a shorty wetsuit!
