Bonaire Lac Bay. NP EVO6 7.0, iSonic 107, Drake carbon 38. Wind: 14 G 17

Good 1 hour workout session spent BAFing. Spent the time messing with footstraps to find the best control/comfort tradeoff for the front straps. May need a couple more adjustments. At least I'm starting to feel much more comfortable/in control in the chop. Jibes are getting better as well.

Taty arrived at the launch area just as I finished rigging. Was happy to see that he rigged his GA-Sails Vapor 7.1 for his iSonic 107. Since we are about the same size, at least I got that part correct Smile. He practices in the 'shallow' area that forms the first half of my long NM runs. I'll have to venture over there more often - I suspect it could be stronger winds based on my past experiences on the NM runs. Chop will be about the same, just more people to deal with. I should have sailed over there today but wasn't willing to deal with the speed difference humiliation at this point in time Embarassed.

Egg Island, Cape Cod. First time on the water after almost 3 weeks in Germany. Felt like an alien in the thick wetsuit, 5 mm boots, hood, and mittens after sailing in 3 mm short sleeves in Corpus last. Nina had fun doing freestyle on short 300 m runs. I need longer runs just to realize I'm planing, but that did not work well yesterday: the wind was SSW-SW, and dropped lot when you got too far into the bay. Was not really flat, either, although a lot flatter than in front of Kalmus at a very high tide. Good to be out again, but I'm looking forward to warmer weather in Hatteras in a week.
