Retired Bogan (6747km): One of the best sails I've had for a long time. At first was solid northerly 15-18 very few lulls, flat water just great. After lunch it became more up and down but still pretty good. Pretty buggered now. Reckon a pb for distance disappointed just missed 30k but a fun day. Severe 6.5 NCX on Exercet 58. Good crew Down.
hoppybogan (26716km): Stansbury, SA, AU Fun day at Stansbury with Tricky. FF102, 6.6 GPS, Choco weed 28. It was gusty, up and down, but still fun. We sailed the line behind the caravan park to the cemetary and it was 10-20 with a few 25s. Packed up and headed off to Voodoo land to meet up with Jason and sail the flats at Port Vic. The forecast was for a pick up ind wind but we rigged and waited until dark, watching Jason Kiting. Was a great days sailing and as i drove home a wind blizzard followed me home,
Sammy (43276km): ![]() I had the best sail for the year today excluding stansburry maybe on jan first. I met carl goeff and a heap of others were also there. I rigged big for the lulls which turned out to be a great plan. Was a little overdone in the gusts but overall great choice of rig. Used the the 7.8 pryde with a 113 falcon and 42.5 fin. I was super happy getting a pb display for the big rig of 36.11 knots. :-) well done to carl who was also smoking around. Wind 12 to 25 :-)
Captain bogan (51056km): ![]() Fun day on big kit. As the other guys said one of the best days this year. Wasn't going to rig small today and wind drop, so even when the wind was gusting strong stayed with the big kit. Most of the way into a one hour found a wind hole and decided to call it quits. The wind was gusting northely 12 - 23 knots but the big sail and board made the day Boggy lake - 12 to 23 knots. Patrik 115 / 7.1m Gun sails GSR / Black project R375.
Jack Bogan (3894km): ![]() Boggy Lake, SA, AU The 6.3 was a bit small for the lulls and found it hard to get going when the gusts hit. Enjoyed the flat stuff when I did get going.
Tricky Bogan (22487km): ![]() First sail in over a month, WoW was it great to be back on the water THe late forcast at Port Vic was 27knts & high tide had us all reved up. But when we arrived bit it was a bit light, hit the water & a solid session 37 peak & distance 300 Whell the black magic & woodo land struck again. the wind just never got there. Jeff hanging out on the shore line watching Jason cruize in & out. I got a gust & screamed out 150meters & got my peak 3.7 kn then walked back in shame. Arrived home & cooked BBQ tea & BAM 27-30 knots, oh well one day it will work A great day & finnished with one of Hoppys cold frothies. Cheers |
