Kalmus, Cape Cod. S wind around low tide. Mostly Warp 71 + Matrix 7.0. Went for the hour, happy with the result for Kalmus with it's short runs and chop (although S and low tide is as flat as it gets). Wanted to do distance, but had to stop early because my arm hurt. But by then, the 6.0/ Xfire 90 had become too big for me, and even Chris and Dean did not care for the chop close to high tide anymore.

Had to play "hookie" today. Took the afternoon off to see what Kalmus would do. Pleasantly surprised to find many others with the same idea and the wind was trying to fill in... Eventually the wind cooperated and Peter was kind enough to lend me a GPS. The call was to back-up Peter's hour, but I should have tested my equipment for a while first, as my boom dropped to my waist, twice. Getting off and fixing equipment does not make for an efficient "hour". :-) We were treated to a rain squall that brought in some mid twenties wind, unfortunately Chris and I were out with 7.0 meter sails! Still, it was a great afternoon while the tide was out. Things changed dramatically when the "hell chop" appeared after the tide change. The final 30 mins were a hot bumpy mess on my 6.3 TRX. The initial couple of hours I was on my RRD 98 and a MS TRX 7.0. BP 38cm fin. Chris and I looked like clones out there, fun stuff for sure! In hindsight, the 6.6 with my Manta would have been the call, but I just could not leave the water. :-) My first good sailing day in NE this year and it was great sailing with teammates! :-):-)
