Isonic107, 6.7m Overdrive, 37 alloy fin

Arrived early so  spent the hour doing long runs down to Yorkeys, had a yap to another windsurfer named Lynn and then made my way back upwind to see Kel doing an hour.

Very enjoyable. 😃

Quick blast on the island after work .My sail tore at the critical phase of the tide so lost valuable time rigging the 7m2 .Looks like we didnt quite do enough Yell

Green Island, QLD, AU Short session on the Island in a SE-E 20-25 .Brief window of opportunity before the reef flats became churned up to the point where it was no longer fun .

Sailed with Lach /Toodie -used the iso 80 Np e7 6.4 lt1 7m2 & tribal Sw 27 .Cool We needed an extra .15 knot to get over the line -aggghhhrrrrFrown

Exocet TB64, 6.0 M, Tribal SW31

Arrived at Port just after midday to fin light conditions so rigged big, but before I got on the water wind had picked up so a sail and fin downsize was called for. Had a great blast with Ed, Billy and Andrew until I broke a harness line and the plastic filling on the clew end of the boom. see what tomorrow brings.

Cracking arvo up at Port Douglas. Rough as guts though....Got word that Ian was going to show his mug on that side of town so made the effort to say g'day. Usual reprebates showed up - Ed, Andrew, some ring in French Dude??? not sure where he came from.

Very quiet at rigging time. Nothing more than 15 knts at best and every one rigged as HUGE as they possibly could. As each of the lads started taking boards down the waters edge, the reports kept coming back....she's building. By the time i decided to get my butt into gear, it was a solid 20knts. Ed went out on one or two runs on his 117 and decided to run back to get his 100 iSonic. I had Ed's old AHD Diamond and managed 1 small run out, also deciding that common sense should rule over stupidity. Just bounced all over the place...not pretty at all. Ian simply changed down a sail size I think. Andrew also got the message and changed both board, sail and jocks i think!!!

Like I said, solid 20 knts, bruising incoming tide and a very messed up ocean. Didnt reallly extend myself passed the headlands and down winders were hard to come by. You certainly couldnt pick a line to sail and have faith that you wernt going to damage either your gear or your self.

Cant wait to get out tomorrow. 104 Missy Screamer, 7.5T4, BPR 40

Port Douglas, QLD, AU  Andrew,Billy and Ian were at the beach and keen for an early start..We all rigged big gear,by the time we hit the water  the wind had freshened right up..Some of the boys immediately down sized sails but that required way to much effort for me.. So i had to' grin and bear it'..Was maxed out on 97lt Isonic with 7.7m Niel Pryde rig cranked down as hard as it would go..Had a good fun session but dropped 3 gybes out the back which annoyed me a bit and  i ran out of fuel early..Was hanging  on to a bit to much sail the whole time..The rest of the crew seemed to have fun ..Ian was on fire but had a few break downs towards the end . Andrew  had a good blast but pulled up a bit lame and needed a few shots of Burbon before hitting the town with his bride..Billy looked good doing a few down winders and was pulling away from me while doing them..I should of hardened up and clocked up another 20 kms..Think i am getting soft..And Ian lovely wife Kay had a  nice cup of tea waiting for me,So that was the end of it..Cheers Ed..

Nice day lads. Well done to all. Ian - you bloody legend. Great effort. Really enjoyed sailing with you again and was super chuffed to catch up with yourself and Kay. Great to have you back in the game. Andrew - Well done. Another solid session for you mate. Those water starts are really improved greatly which will make a big difference to your sailing experience. You will be ripping it up with Ed out the back in know time. Ed - you got me...bugger. Well done. Lookin at the figures above, not a great deal (unless you were at GI) between any of us really. Hope you had a great arvo and went hope with the a smile. Enjoyed catching up.
