Maui TR11 6.6, CA44, dleta 17.

nice quick speed sail always good when you are doing over 40 knots.

small window and not enough wind for the 6.6 to realy power it up but it felt sweet gybing in flat water.

Finally got wind! Too much wind. Nothing like ive ever experienced. NW 40kts + against the incoming tide and amazingly consistant. This is not the pristine Sandy Point from all the youtube vids! Hopelessly overpowered on the 5.5. Lost my bearings and hit a sandbank at 30kts with my first run. Snapped my boom and was lucky to get back with not a soul anywhere else on the inlet. Swapped booms and persevered for another couple of hours pinching a few runs unhooked in the shallows but spent most of my time just holding on to my gear and avoiding getting hit by it. Loved every minute!

How lucky are we...having these terrific westerlies and more to come tomorrow...perhaps?!?!

Didnt stay long enough..came in just as the wind got stronger. Yesterdays formula took a bit out of me for today. I still enjoyed it..being the most important.

Nice work Byron. I sure am glad thet 6.6 wasn't powered up! Thanks guys, third boom destroyed this year. Quite an accomplishment. No Daffy, Sue. Not a holiday in Victoria today. May have kept a few away.
