What a struggle. Very hard to get going for me today, first run was the 38 and then it just went downhill from there.

Was great to catch up with teammates and meet John from QLD.

Sandy Pt  2017_KaRace SL Pro 5.5, KaLockwood 21.5, CLM_Sp47,

a bit under done on the 5.5 with the wind up n down, but managed to hook a breif/short double punch gust at top of run for my fastest run of the day, just wish it had of lastest longer.     That said the 5.5 had heaps of grunt and good efficiency with some mega WOW! 1.8m/ss accelleration as I pulled into the run, felt super quick!...500m only 42.587 though.   Improved on earlier runs when tide idled with some 44 and 45 peaks as course improved.

Was some super flat water high to mid on the run towards the end of the session that went to wasteCry with no lengthy bullits to get timing right and get a fully blown super charged runTongue out.   Still a good day out with a 47 peak on the Sp47, it was Luderitz back in 2013 that I went at least this fast so a good day!.

Welcome to John from QLD and others who made it on down.

At last a proper Sandy Point speed day. 25-35 knots of West to WSW. Shifting a fair bit early on and then filling in after midday and reamining at an excellent angle for and hour or so. It was hard work early on with the wind a bit West and the tide fairly high making for a bumpy run and trick start in choppy water. When the wind swung 5-10 degrees more South the water went a LOT flatter, but timing it to get the gust was also tricky.

I spent the first half of the session on the 2017 5.4m Koncept and was never feeling out of control with the sail, but on the runs I could not use all the power available, mostly due to not wating to overstress the fin and spin out. Later I switched to the 5m and immediatly went 1.5 to 2 knots faster. It was amazing the diiference when I was able to fully apply the available power. It also helped that the water got a bit flatter.

Good to see plenty of sailors on the water going for speed.

KA Koncept 2017 5.4m and 2016 5.0m. T18cm fin, CA40.

There starting to look like the rolling green hills on the drive downLaughing.    I think after yesterdays sesh I am questioning their impact on the consistency of wind strength down the run in the strength we had.   Wind was up n down a bit, but a solid 35 plus would hopefully minimise the effect on a solid 10 sec or good 500.   Won't know till we get the right conditions really, either way it will be slightly harder to achieve as any fluctuation in strength on a run plays havoc when you have to make larger adjustments to trim/stance etc.

We may see more heavy acceleration on tracks as the wind strenghtens as it compresses around the dunes and blsats out harder as you come upto a gap.
