Myall lakes GPS race weekend .

2 races late in day the wind cranked over 30 and I was on 7.7 and RS4 hanging on for dear life in first race.

Second race was sweat.

Then went out after racing with 6.3 and RS2 as blowing over 30 some scary runs and a nauti over 30 in that chop sweat.

This place is so beautiful as 26 competitors will testify shame some had to leave before the wind came in.

Falcon 112 KAR 7.8 Venom 38 /RSR 5.5/ SB Formula 159 KAR 8.7

Got absolutely smashed in Race 1 with a 7.8 in 30kts+. I don't know what I was thinking. Didnt look that bad from the shore. Had a catapault head first into the boom head which rung my helmeted bell loudly. Spent 15 mins in the water trying to waterstart the 7.8. (sails don't float as well in the fresh!)Rigged my 5.5 for race 2 and was as underdone as I was overdone with the 7.8. Spent the rest of arvo zooming around on the Formula learning the hard way how to down wind whilst overpowered. Great to share the water with some amazing sailors. Thanks to Byron, James and the guys for organising a terrific event. Good to meet all the partners and kids. A great bunch of people. We should definately do this at least once a year. You will not find too many better places to sail.

Westerlys 15- 30 + and not the most favored conditions. I preferred to play safe where there was some protection fairly close to shore. My helmit off to all those who went beyond and took on the gale like conditions. Thank you organisers, I  hope we do it again here...december / january maybe!

CA70 and 7.7m - 10-30kt westerly

Myall Lakes GPS weekend.

2 Races late in the day.

First race started fine, but then the wind picked up to 30 kts, absolutely desperation, just trying to survive. Saw Byron come off which eased the pain a little. Managed a Board PB with the 31.8. Second race far more pleasant and probably faster. Great weekend in a great location with a great bunch of like minded sailors. I counted 19 members of  Lake Macquarie GPSTC.

Sailing at Myall Lakes GPS series. Futura with 7.6 then Ray with 5.5. Light S/E then a crazy Gusty westerly.

Had a great weekend away with a great group of friends, old and new.

Looking forward to next one at Sanctuary Point.

Thanks to Byron , James and Murray for all the organization.

Well wasnt that fun.A lot of sailing practice required if I am to last more than about 10 minutes.

Typical westerly Up and down and all over the place but when it was on look out. If the good sailors were having a bit of difficulty then it makes me feel better.

Just a great weekend with family and friends with a bit of sailing thrown in for good measure.

Big thanks to the management team Byron, James and Muz. Well done guys.

Sorry I couldn't stay Byron but really glad the wind swung and came in enough for you to get some races. I got to Karuah and it was cranking!!! I very nearly turned around.

Anyway, thanks again for you, James and Muz for all the organising you do and it was great to meet even more people from Lake Mac GPS sailing. People that are in to GPS sailing that don't come to these meets are crazy. Great times Laughing
