Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU. Went out too early. 7.8 Naish GP, CA 96. Speeds arent a true reflection of the session. It was crap- oh well

Some lousy afternoon...few gustsabout that were pleasant but very few. After l have had enough l thought l ll call it a day while johnny and Sue went out and of course the wind came in... Maybe tomorrow?   Used 7m on 58 wide Sonic with Delta 19.  The weed is very high.. difficult to sail with fins over 20cm..

Big forecast so played it safe with 7mOD - 89ltre  Falcon- 20cms BP 50weedspeed

1st 2hrs was mainly plodding around trying to find a gust then hoping it would last long enough to get going. Fun though. Warm and the water was flat. The weed is very thick and water is down. I didn't get to sus out how shallow as I played it safe staying out. Tibor , Andrew , Tony & I out..

Decided to come in for something to eat. Of course it kicked right in then. Decided to go back out with the 7m even though a 6m + 79 would have been better. Fun nm! Easy 33.82kts.. hoped for a PB nm and JUST got one..looking at my tracks I came upwind more at the bottom because I was worried about how shallow it might be..If I'd held my course I might have got a 30kt nm..Still great to get a PB.

 I was worried about getting the big kit upwind in the strong conditions but it died off a bit and was doable although lousy direction meant it was hard work to get back.

 Wayne & Milsy went out just before it came in with the big gear. Milsy did great to get 35kts + with the 7.9m -larger board..? Wayne was hanging on..Packed up just as the rin hit and the temp went form 25 degree to 13..

 Worth it just for that run..

 Love the BP fin! Held with the 7m and good in the chop. I'm sailing heaps better. It only spun out once and then it was easy to get it back in. Pity they don't make a 18cm as the lake is so shallow!
