Nice afternoon @ Primbee, NSW, AU

A gusty W-SW with a few nice bullets. Good to see the crew again after a long break without wind. I'm gonna have to start working on my fitness as I was starting to cramp up all over the place.

Naish SP95, Loft RB 7.0, Unifiber Antiweed 26

then iSonic W49, Loft RB 7.0, Unifiber Antiweed 26 = Big mistake, wind died in the ass

Went back to the Naish and the BP Weed Speed 25/50 as water was getting shallow.

Primbee at its best!  What a fabulous afternoon.  Warm sunshine, flat water, lots of friends, lots of smiles, plenty of parks, grassy rigging, lots of selfie sticks...who could ask for more.  Winter westerly speedsailing season is hereby officially opened.Cool

The afternoon came alive again at 3:30 with a beatifully steady WSW kicking in.  I reckon I did 8 laps on the plane, perhaps with just a few muffed gybes interrupting.  Just Jetlag and I eating up the best wind and water of the afternoon, all the way to Windang and back.  Apologies in advance to those who left early Embarassed.

Fanatic Falcon 104, North Warp 2011 7.0, Gun Sails Weed Control 29/50.

The lulls in the wind showed high correlation with Jetlag bringing out his speed board!

Primbee, NSW, AU. Tabou Rocket wide ass 108L, SV 7m OD, Guns 29/50 weed.

Finally the wind drought has broken with a nice lunchtime westerly turning it on at Primbee. Great to see the crew again in conditions windy enough to be on the plane most of the time. A bit rusty from the recent lack of sail time but I guess everyone is in the same boat here (no pun intended)Laughing

PS Thanks to everyone who has helped out over the past few months in getting Primbee clean and free of the nasty submerged beasties out there, top stuff lads.

Primbee, NSW, AU  20kts at Moss Vale at 9.00 arrived on the lake at 11.00, consistent W before lunch,

moved into the WSW this arvo, a bit on and off but this made for smooth water,

had some troubles with the GT31 along with a bit of talking, missed some good wind.

Tabou 95l Rocket   NP 5.8 Evo 7777 yes its brand new, still hard to rotate.

great sailing speedsters, the fastest guys in the Illawarra. Jetlag and Eckers the best dressed windsurfers in the car park that I ever saw. Tezza loving his new Evo so much he didnt come back in. Nice PB Witto :)

Thanks to Tex also for giving the lawns a mow last week, it was all spick and span, and winter ready.

Dezza, think I'll invest in one of those suits that you just rip off in one go. Just like a stripper but obviously with wettie underneath. Quick transitions are the name of the game, should be logged in GPSTC, handbrake to planing time !!!

thanks for the well wishes guys, i had to run off to pick the kids up from school. i was getting worried with that big lull around 2pm and being closer to the caravan park than i would have liked for a walk back to the car. But the wind came back which led to nice catapult in a panic to get back. Bring on the westerlies and my 30kntWink.

nice locks nudie.

Nice work guys ! Congrats on the PB Witto.

You can't keep a good Nudie down....!

The weed isn't like it was 3 or 4 years ago Andrew (Saliquik) where there were large areas of flat water behind weed banks. The water is still good but gets choppy when the wind gets up. The wind direction and tide also have an effect (of course!) You will still need a weed fin to sail here.

Would be great to see you sailing here!Cool. Next Wednesday looking like a possibility , although not epic (just a forecast).

No way can I compete with Nudist for the best dressed windsurfer - the man in the van is simply too cool for school.  Cool

I, on the other hand, err, umm, I am proudly sponsored by Ebay, Tradingpost, Gumtree, Kmart and Seabreeze second hand buy'n'sell forum!Embarassed

Sailquik - would be great to host you at Primbee.  We'll reserve the visitors carpark in anticipation.  Further to Bushy, agree the weed-based chop suppression is not as significant as previous years.  However, when you are lucky enough to catch the leading edge of a gust/bullet following a few minutes of lull to flatten the water, the conditions can be utterly amazing.  It's a scenario that rewards luck, intuition, keeping moving, big K's, time on the water and being always on the lookout for when the wind and water combine to give a perfect run. Sometimes there might be only 50 metres or a couple of seconds between jagging epic wind in really flat water, or copping mediocre wind in highly disturbed water.
