My collarbone was very sore all morning so I was a bit worried about sailing but it feels a bit better now..
I haven't sailed Buff for about 4 months. Since coming back from injury I've been avoiding it as I thought it would be too shallow and the weed too thick.
It showed as the first run I flew flatout into a gybe ..forgetting to check for weedbergs and ran into a big one halfway through.. splat.. Mm note to self - check it's clear before you gybe..
I'd forgotten how much fun it can be!
Disappointing stats don't reflect the fun or how fast it felt. I'm really disapointed with the alpha as I did my best gybe for ages - flew in and out losing hardly any speed. I was sure it would be a 20 or 21..Must have been too wide as it chose another one for the alpha..
Love that combo. The new adjustable outhaul worked great ( except for the few times I forgot to pull it on before gybing and ran out of adjustment. ).
First go with the kestrels..both extremes..very impressed with it's holding in the small chop and the way it cuts through the bergs working or downwind..
I got overconfident coming bacxk fully powered in the channel chop and it went sideways and in I went.. I waterstarted but then spent the rest of the trip in going sideways..
Boy Bill is going well. I watched him come in through the channel fully powered up with the board leaping out of the water..( boy he must have a decent fin on to sail across like that) ...No a standard delta! Great sailing!
First half of the session I should have had the 6.6m up but it made for nice gybing.. The second half I was very powered up and tired so didn't even try to gybe..Forster has aspoilt me.. I froze today the few times I stood around waiting for a gust.
