Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU

Top afternoon up on the hill with young Boxy - Wet and squally on the coast, so we thought we'd find some nice weather up on the hill. There was even blue sky for a couple of hours. Caught up briefly with the two gents of the Tablelands - Herby and Hans and had a quick chat.

Breeze was the ever typical Tinaroo - 3 directions and 0-30 knts in no time at all. Big thanks to Kel who let me borrow the "Tinaroo Tank" (77 wide Surprised) which I must say is a delight to sail. 140lt AHD Free Diamond of unknown age - suit the dam perfectly. Struggled with the fin though, to many powered up spin outs. Thought it was deep tuttle and was just going to shove in my 49 S10...but on closer inspection...at the dam, it was a standard tuttle. Woops...So, all I had at hand was my C3 S11. Never mind, you do what you have to do and that is sail regardless.

Bloody happy with my 2 sec peak though. I think thats a spot PB for Billy. Not sure wether the old girl has reach those limits before, but it certainly had more to give before it started to lift into the atmosphere. Pretty well stuffed after each run over to Platapus and back and really enjoyed watching Boxy do his thing.

Awesome arvo - Used: 140 AHD FD, 40 Sting 11, 8.2 Diablo

Green Island, QLD, AU Gear -new Iso 2018 80 RSR E 9 6.4 Tribal SW 27.

Wind ESE 20-33 knots-occasionally higher -Seas super rough.Yell

Forecast looked epic but circumstances conspired against us today .Tide didn't drop to the predicted 1.6m , the wind had way too much East in it & Reef flats looked like Peel Inlet channel in 35 knots-just horrible .Sealed

First run out a 33knot gust game through & has I looked upwind I saw Lach get lifted out of the water & slam dunked .After 2 runs I had to stop & catch my breath -thought I was going to lose my breakfast from the intensity of the conditions .Dont know if I'm becoming soft as I approach 56 but its good to hear step son Lach admit he too was fearing for his life today...!!!

Battled with the gear -the Tribal was letting go a lot ,the front footstraps on the Iso 80 were problematic -foot kept wanting to come out despite a range of adjustments so we both retired early .

Set some goals this morning on the way over but they'll have to wait ...CoolSmile

Great to see a PB Boxy. You looked great out there - that new Gator looks great.

Doc - glass half full kind a guy. Well done on that effort, and Locky too. It would have been tough conditions.

Good to see some action on the water today. Glad to see Boxy get a PB well done mate..30 kts on the Tinaroo tank should put a smile on your dial Billy👍. Think captain Kel has got the best speed on the lake and I don't think it's much faster than that...sounds like Gl was going off today.all good fun. Might try for a quick sail after work tomorrow. Want to try sort some gear out before season starts.cheers Ed.

Good one Boxy!  And Nice 2 sec Billy.....  sounds like you made a quick affinity with the board!

Dr Cam & Locky- very gutsy!!....super effort in those conditions.  I would have joined if I could, but I don't have a 3m sail...

I'm keen for a session somewhere tomorrow, probably at the dam.  Will be touching base with Billy in the morning after we check on the weather reports Cool

Great stuff Team! Wish I could have headed to Green or the dam today but no goFrown

30 on the dam is good speed Billy, I think only FairyBob and I have been quicker?  Glad you like the FD, it feels like it will keep accelerating once you get it up on the fin. It has done 32 at Green and a 30 at Holloways once!

Big effort Cam and Lachy. It was showing close to four meter seas and high water.

Nice going at the dam.
