Trojan (8376km):  Mackay, QLD, AU Good little afternoon blast with Phil. Very small tides, so chop was fairly small, but in all direction, making bearaways pretty hairy with a plenty of unwanted airtime. Freddy Burke (12114km):  afternoon sail with Benny Mac....wind was marginal but decided to give it a go. Had to head out a bit to the wind line but once there was not to bad...could plane at least! Thought the light wind might have caused Benny some grief....but no he headed out WIDE and appeared to have a good sail......improving all the time. ISONIC 117, KA KOYOTE 7.2 | ||||||||||||||||||
Benny McCarthy (15191km):  Holloways Beach, QLD, AU Quick little light wind afternoon session with Freddo. Had to dredge out a far ways to reach the wind line. Once there, was enough to get planing without setting any speed records. Had a few nice long runs passing a yacht and motor boat out wide with smiles all round. Wind ran out of puff coming back in to shore so it was a dredge back also. Heard a loud twang noise as I lifted the sail to take the rig out of the water on shore. And bugger me!, the 100% carbon mast just snapped in half at the join... Ah well, on a positive note, at least I was back on shore when it happened! Heading over to GI tomorrow with Ed & family for the day. Tides are nice & neap and the wind forecast looks strong, so it should be a cracker if anyone else wants to join? Used Exocet 135 Loft 7.4 Black Project 47.5

Sailpilot (8104km):  1 categories  Mackay, QLD, AU NIce flattish sail but still too rough for a decent speed run before getting air. Good run with the Kult 5.8 and a winds up to 25kn, nut also down to 15ish. Troy kicked my but as usual but the freeride gear held up pretty well in the conditions. Ankle got attacked by some sort of fish jumping out at the wrong time. Anyway a good run for the neap tides. Koncept 100, freespeed 32, kult 5.8 | ||||||||||||||||||
