Wow...nearly unsailable.
Arrived to a gentle SW, 10 knots at best.
Then it hit...hard..... Rigged the smallest I bought (6.3) and still got snotted. Wind blew the water level up quickly and before you knew it, the chop was nearely a foot high in the 45 knots gusts that we waited out while on the water. Saved the kite of a kiter who snapped the bar, the wind was that strong - good deed for the day. Then waited out the 55 knot gusts in order to safely derig. Half an hour later, it was back to a 10 knot millpond! Det harnessed some of the early gusts and flatter water and pushed well past 40 - great skill and bravery.
North Warp 6.3, Mistral Speed 95, MUF Deltat XT 20. Lived to sail another day...

couldnt believe it went from absolute survival mode wind to nothing. started to become more consistent around 2pm. left around 3pm when MT and Det were rigging to go out. Impressed with the Tabou in those conditions so much easier on the body.

Late sail after work from about 3:45pm. Was hoping to get more wind in the afternoon session, maybe not quite as strong as what the boys got this morning, but something a bit more consistant would have been good.
Anyway a challenging sail in very on and off conditions but happy with what I got out of it.

2290 days ago Tricky Westerly at Primbee with Eckers and Steve Cook for the AM session then again with MT in the arvo. Morning session was awesome to start with water level being optimal. Had three awesome runs before it turned into survival sailing with the 6.4. Struggled my way through it for a while but could only get moderate speeds compared to earlier, the Holfuy showed gusts 45-50kts during this period. Came in and changed to the 5.8. As I was rigging it promptly vanished. I walked out but didn't get on the plane once. Walked in dejected and went to work. Watched the Holfuy from work and decided it warranted another crack at 3:30pm. Wind was now a fairly consistent 25 with gusts up to 35. It was now high tide though, so the water state was horrendous. Nearly lost it a few times on bearaways. Had to come in at 4:15 for pickup duties. Still got a few 40's in the arvo session, enough to sneak in the 5x10PB.
Good to catch up with Nudie, Witto, Keef & CC in the car park. Got my hands on my new UFO 18/50/10 and 24/50/10 (Cheers Nudie). Can't wait to get them wet.
iSonic W49, GSR 6.4, ufo 20/50/10 then in PM Simmer SC Speed 5.8.
