Bruce Healey (24292km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Nice arvo, the whole world was there and the NE was nice, plenty of flat water. RS1,6.6, 23 weedy
sboardcrazy (25098km): 15-22kts NE then 20-25kts Peel st Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU level 0.292 6.2m R8OD - 87ltre iso - 21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24cm) then 80ltre iso with 20cm FF. Best NE atBudgy for ..??? There should be some pbs today.. Yay! I've been trying to get a decent alpha for yonks.. This is a NSW PB and location PB.. I was going to try for an hr but the gusts were too strong so I just did my own thing but made sure I kept going for 1.30hr +. Matt gave me a GW60 for on water feedback..the ironic thing is I got the alpha PB before I wore the watch..The watch proved my best gybes are generally too wide. It also is .2kt more optimistic than the GT31..I posted from the GT as I only used the watch for half a session.. Could have been on the 80ltre from the start but kept with the 87 ( PB) and swapped after a few hours and tried for some speed..I'm not much good at getting decent speeds in a NE at Budgy so this isn't too bad for me.. Went for a nm at the end..( KA chose one with a gybe in it)..The wind didn't play party for the first 300m but then it kicked in with a vengeance.. best fun I've had for ages Fastest I've gone in chop too 29.8kts ..Plenty of woops! First time I've used the 20cm FF for a while. Last time it didn't like dredging starts and patchy wind but in todays good wind and deeper water it was the bees knees.. Would have stayed out longer but my arms were complaining and i didn't want to totally stuff them.. My bad one actually doesn't feel too bad! Heaps out. Milsy , Andrew, Alwyn, Pugs , Mick , Milsy , youngens , Gareth , Bruce , Tibor , Paul and more?? Yipee..still bouncing... I love alpha PB's..
rus13b (5109km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 7m od, 91sl, 19 speed demon. great sail, last 1 b4 xmas id say. couldnt realy tell how strong went the 7m & was all gd, then it was sweet, then it was a bit much but held it fine & got a pb for the 7m. new fin, some working it out still to do, not great in the chop getting there & spun out a fair bit. moved mast track around a bit. speed runs its bak a lot more than sailing up wind. once powered up in the flats it was awsome. quite a few there sue andy, alwin the man, matt, mick a bit later, & 10 more.
Ant-man (13419km): Arcadia Vale, NSW, AU. 5.3 Naish 90 Naish. Awesome B&J session at my old stomping ground. Such fun. Tried Budgie earlier in the day but just wasn't for me.
Andrew Haigh (50238km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU IS90 and 7.0 then CA44 with FF165 A long day at Budgie. Arrived around noon. Never got super strong but enough to be comfortable with the 7.0 Plenty of thick weed and flat water, a great day for alphas. Spent most of the day doing 'port' entry alphas and getting off at the northern end to check the result. After a rusty start I slowly started to improve until I was getting lots over 24 and 3 or 4 over 25. Eventually got a 25.8, just a whisker away from a PB. I was close to giving up, but finally it all came together. GW60 showed 26.21kts. Real speed failed to pick up many of my alphas so was quite relieved to see KA72 come up with the same as the GW60. My GT31 produced a 26.1kt alpha in Realspeed so perhaps there is an issue with GW60 5HZ data in Realspeed. Came in and had a blast on the speed board with the FF165 (still with the 7.0) Although it was reasonably windy the fin never really produced enough lift to really get moving.
