Patchy 10-25kts WNW then 30-35kts W Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU- level 0-23 - 0.19 !

5.5m Mach 2 - 80ltre iso- 16cm tribal then 18cm tribal later

Buggered at first and needed an hr doze before I could be bothered rigging.

It was pretty patchy at first . I usually use the 18cm in the 80 but it's shallow at the moment so I figured the 16cm would be safer in the flats. Too patchy, the fin was too small and I didn't trust it so the first part of the session I didn't get upwind very well and did a lot of walking.

I was hoping to get some gybe practise and try for some alphas but the wind was too patchy early on and the fin too small .Later I was too overpowered to consider trying to gybe.

Didn't score many decent gusts in the flats at first , I always seemed to be walking upwind or getting into position when the good ones came through. Undecided Happy with the 34kts. The 5 x 10 is in my top 5 too..

Plenty of yodel adrenaline fueled runs in the smooth, even if I couldn't get another good run. They felt fast anyway..Wink..Tongue out

Really tired so came in for lunch. I was thinking of putting the 70ltre on but it looked like it had died so I just put the bigger tribal on..Much more fun! I could get upwind and trusted to go for it in the small chop although the speeds weren't as good. Actually the 18cm was ok depthwise but I stayed out deeper and I was very powered up.

It really kicked in and I was wishing I had the 5m on the 70ltre but I was too tired to bother going and changing down.

Quite a few people got caught out thinking it had died and rigging big when it had really increased.

By now the 5.5m was giving me some hary moments bearing away in the 25kts plus winds  but it was a lot of fun!

Decided to pull the plug and then it went up a few notches.. A survival walk in and a few short sails in the lulls. I would have been overdone with the 4.6m and 70 by now.Surprised

 Buggered but happy. Good fun!

Wrong gear choice today but I still had fun. Maree and Mark killed it!

Byron , Hugh , Andrew, Matt , Bill , Pete , Mark & Maree and later Wayne + several others..Looking forward to a big sleep in tommorrow and a rest day catching up on work..

Well done Nick. With so little TOW a great effort.

Top swimmers usually shave down to go fast, looks like windsurfing is the opposite, hey Nick.Laughing
