Coal Point, NSW, AU, Southerly 15-20+

Stingray Whisperer and 4.6m

It felt a bit light on the way down to Valo, but coming back it kicked in and I was in survival mode for a while

 10-25kts plus Valentine, NSW, AU

4.2m Sailworks revo - 85ltre WT - 20cms centre fin

then 5.7m gator - 25cm Maui ultra wave

 B & J session

Got down early as it was predicted to be strongest then plus I had a Xmas party to go to so I had to leave by 11am. Got 20-25kts by the meter off the beach ( so more out in the middle).

Wasted some good wind stuffing around rigging ( a sail I don't use much) plus looking for a alum key I finally realised I didn't need. Yell

Finally launched and overpowered to blazes! I should have known when I was having trouble carrying the gear to the water. Undecided

Only went a short way and gybed and back in. Got to the 2 sec on that run.

I was going to rig the 3.8m but realised it had died down a bit ( I think I just got the strong patch of the day on the first run).

The 4.2m ended up being pretty right although I think it needed more downhaul. Cripes I'm not used to falling in on all my gybes..Undecided Very tiring plus I had the wizmount hanging off the back and that was tiring. After 8kms I was stuffed..Embarassed

Had a few plays on the chop faces and survived my first few jump attempts in 10 years..Usually I try and stay on the water when I hit a ramp but I just let it go today..First one was pretty pathetic and hardly cleared the water but I landed it ok. The next one was a long flat floaty one which felt great but I fell off the back on the landing..Undecided

Still I didn't get any injuries so I'm keen to keep trying..Tongue out

Grr Go pro got the crappy one but flopped and I only got sky for the decent one..Frown Think I'll adjust the angle of the pole so it's a little more upright. It won't get caught by as many waves then.

Tiring but fun! I got one gybe out the back . I entered faster than usual and flipped earlier which helped..non planing eixt but dry,.Smile I went for a a few faster ones in close but kept falling off the back.. Even when I started forward I'd move backwards mid gybe and stuff it..I wish we got more strong winds so I could get more practise..

Rerigged the larger sail and fin for a few runs and my gybing was better although the chop/ waves were much smaller too.

Hugh & Craig were rigging as I went.

Zzzzzzzz
