Thought it was going to come in a lot stronger, rigged 5.6 hucker. Ended up a nice easy sail on the free ride gear.

patchy 18-22kts ENE dying to 10-15kts at the end Coal Point, NSW, AU

One run 85ltre WT- 4.2m sailworks revo - 20cm fin

 then

4.8m Sailworks hucker - 23cms Makani centre fin

Well I suppose the middle of the session was good..Undecided

Got there early and there were heaps of boats cutting up the water so I rigged for the forecast 20-25kts and waited for the wind and chop to get rid of them..

Did one run with the 4.2m- ok going out but not enough to plane consistently and work back.

Rigged the 4.8m and then changed the fin. I had a bit of trouble with fitting the fin ( ended up finding out the bottom plate thingy was stripped..Undecided ). Anyway mid fin fitting I heard this lound 'Boom".. Hmm that didn't sound good..Surprised

grr the 430 mast had broken near the join. Not sure whether it was just worn out and ready to go or it was the sun..It wasn't out there that long. I'm usually very careful keeping my slalom gear in the shade but have got slack with the freeride rig,not really thinking it's the same mast ...Dur..Undecided

Rerigged on the rdm 400 found another screw setup for the fin..By now I was over it..

Anyway it was pretty good..Laughing The ramps were at a different angle today and on my bad side.. I couldn't get the  board airborne..bummer..Frown

Did go for some faster gybes and surprised myself by actually getting some Surprised.. Non planing but tidy..

Wore out pretty quickly so I came in for a rest and then put the wizmount on hoping to score a miracle and some decent jump footage.Tongue out

I got one! yay! It wasn't that high but I landed well etc.. think think.. bugger I forgot to turn the blasted go pro on..Yell

Came in and took it off and restarted.. 300m out the wind died , I couldn't unhook quick enough and in I went. Then the fun started..Undecided I'd normally be able to start but the wizmount was acting like a sea anchor dragging me back down.

After many exhausting attempts I decided I better turn the board around so at least I was heading back to shore..I managed to body drag to above the point ( almost missed it..Wink) and stood up amongst the breaking waves..

Lajos and Les were coming around to help so I just tried to keep the board off the rocks until they got there and I could give them the wizmount. The wind had picked up a bit and without that ##@ thing hanging off my back I managed to beachstart and plod as far as I could and swim the rest..zzzzzz

Mmm not the best session..Undecided Luckily the board survived ( hope Lajos shins are ok Wink ) but the fin looked pretty crap. It's sanded out ok though.Smile

Thanks guys!

Trying to keep the board off the rocks as  I scramble over the reef and get close enough to have the wizmount taken. If I had to carry the blasted thing I wanted some footage..Wink
