I used the Norah graph as I think it's a bit more like what we got at Coal.
7.5m GT Turbo- WT64 ( 112ltres)- 33cm select pointer
I got out early as I thought once it swung more S the storms and rain offshore would come in. I should have waited as by the time it swung a bit and came in I was buggered..
First few hrs were more consistent but less wind. I could only just get going in the gusts , I soon wore out trying to bounce the board onto the plane and often the gust wasn't long enough to be worth the effort.
Sunny and quite pleasant , I had to drop in a few times to cool off in the 3-4 -5mm.
It just started to get a bit stronger in the gusts and Lyds came across and Greg and Andrew joined him foiling.
I was stuffed..
It was tempting to put a larger fin in as I couldn't press on it much until I got some speed but it was great once powered up. I almost put the 36cm in ( a lot of 10-12kts ) but I'm glad I didn't as it kicked in 15-20kts. I was a bit concerned with the big sail but everything was great in the gusts.
The board was terrific in the overpowered conditions..
I got some advice from Neil after my flighty moment last sail. I changed from a 39 to a 33cm fin, put the front straps a hole further forward and the boom lower. I also put the tail on half flex to depower it..I was underpowered a lot so I sailed with my rear foot in front of the rear strap most of the time.
In the strong stuff I could really feel the benefits of the wider stance it felt so controlled..I think I'll make it even wider.
Looking forward to some more powered sailing when I'm fresh..
Put the go pro on but it had run out of battery by the time I got to the best stuff..
I don't feel very sailing fit...
