10-20kts SSE The Spit Lake George, SA, AU

 7m OD- RS2 ( 90ltres) - 21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24)

 then 6.2m OD - 70ltre Patrick ( 48 wide) - 16cm tribal

Best day of the trip! Fantastic. Stats don't reflect the fun factor..Tongue out

Got there early for a picnic lunch , read and doze. Sheet glass.. Rigged the 7m not being sure if it would be enough but I was planing and doing planing gybes from the start..Tongue out Few yeehaas!

Amazing sensation ripping around with no sign of wind..

Wore myself out wearing the wizmount for the first hr. The impoact vest was riding up around my chin and the wizmount pulled back on me a bit but the fototage / memories will be worth it.The wind gradually picked up and I think the last gybe was a beauty so hopefully it caught it..

Came in for a short rest then back out. About 2 hrs in sheet glass..Tongue out Then it picked up a notch enough to try some bearaways . I got the 2 sec on the big gear. Still some flat but choppy bits as well. Another few hrs of this.

I tried for alphas but I wasn't powered enough on the legs..

Another rest and I decided to try the speed gear. I've carried it around all the trip..

I got my PB for the trip.. I made every gybe I tried on the 48 wide board and they were planing step gybes..Very happy girly..CoolSmile

I was worried the 16cm Tribal would be too small for the 6.2m as I've never used that combo before.

Hardwork getting upwind. I shot upwind in the gusts but not quite enough in the lulls .. The fin held well and I gradually got the confidence to push hard on it in the 20cm chop. It even survived the occasional sack of spuds stance ..Laughing

Not quite enough wind to get decent speed. The 80 iso probably would have been faster but the 70 was fun! There were some good gusts but hard to line one up in the flatwater. Most were in 6 inch chop.

I'd love to get a fully powered bearaway on that combo to see what it can do..Tongue out

Came in as the sun was getting low. Another beautifaul evening out there.

I got about 10kms more distance yesterday and hated every minute. Today it just happened as I was having fun.

 A day to remember..

Ian , Frank , Tony , Sue , Wendy , Darren , Jill , Andy, Ian , Firie , Jimbob and maybe a few others.. Nice to see other women out there going well. Wendy was last in and was flying.

Yeehaa!!!!

Lake George, SA, AU Spit.

Fanatic Ray 102 , 7m R6 overdrive , Techtonics 19. 12-18 knots SS/E.

Worked up to 5 mile and back to the spit trying for and hour. Had a break then changed to the Fanatic 51 speed and 17 Techtonics . Bit light and hard work but still good to use the small board as it doesn't get much use.

Headed out at 10.30 for a distance session. Did 18 km in the first three and a half hours. Gave up, had lunch messed around a bit until 2pm when the wind arrived. 66km at 3.30pm. At 4.30pm started an hour attempt and then continued on until 7.45pm.

Better late than never. Nice day, light at the start, went to the spit, acres of glass but not very windy so came up wind in time to get belted by stronger wind. thought to change down but extra outhaul seemed easier so kept going till eventually came in, too bloody lazy to rig 5.9 so hooked the 7 into the speed board. A bit of an effort upwind but magic downwind. Still, ought to have changed down for extra comfort and speed. CASL82 the CASL44, 7m, 19  then 16 fins.
