sboardcrazy (25098km): Patchy - 15-23kts S- SSE 5 mile Lake George, SA, AU Sailed 1- 6.20pm 6.2m OD- 80 iso- 16.5cm FF ( cutdown 22) one run then 21.5cm FF ( cutdown 24) then 18 tribal delta Well I worked my butt off today for some pretty average results. I didn't enjoy today at all.. Tomorrow , bugger stats .. I'm going to have fun! I had my mind set on doing an hr. It was a trainwreck.. Went out with the 16.5cm and decided I wanted something a bit bigger to trust in the chop as I was pretty powered up in the gusts. Back in for the 21.5cm. It was pretty obviously not a good day for an hr attempt. The wind was patchy , one minute hanging on going flatout in chop ,the next trying to keep planing.. But I'm a stubborn bugger and wanted to give it a go. I've been gybing really well all trip. Lucky to have botched 2..Today I was pscyhed out as I didn't want to botch the hr. I gybed in lulls, and generally felt horrible! Sometimes the board just went straight ahead..I almost thought the fin was playing up but I think I was hanging back. the few gybes where I did use a gust went well. I fell in halway through and took a while to waterstart.. that should have been the cue to give up but I'm pigheaded and thought mabye I could catch it up.. Anyway I 'killed' myself for a 19.83 hr.. Got the 2 sec on the fat fin down at the Spit. I had food and water but I should have worn my winter wettie as I was really cold all the way back which was worrying me a bit. I was glad to have the big FF in to get back. It was an easier trip than i expected. I decided to try for some speed as there were flat patches up the top. It was pretty darn choppy at the Spit although the weedbeds were working. I would have liked to use a smaller board but it was too patchy getting out. I changed to the tribal for a faster fin. I haven't used the Tribal much and don't have the skill with it. I was surprised it held well even with me sailing like a sack of spuds but I wasn't game to get up it. I couldn't get any decent speeds over there. Occasionally I'd get a gust in the flats but I was only getting 31s so I lost interest and just stayed out till I got 100. ZZZZZ
