Eddy (24342km): Green Island, QLD, AU Yeah fun Gi session i took my good friend Simmi over to road test her new 95lt Fox and i wanted to catch up with some of the boys. Simmi got chucked in the deap and had to face 20 to25kts on a board she had never used and was totaly different to any thing she had ever sail before, but it had a happy ending and turned out to be a' match made in heaven 'and with a bit of fine tuning it will be a whole new way of sailing for her..She went home wiith a big smile on her face which was nice to see..I had a very solid session on my new 105 Fox and 6.5m turbo in full lock down mode didn't spend much time on the drag strip as it didn't take long for it to get to swallow for me and i didn't want to know about it, So did some serious chop hopping out in the big pool, which is where the Fox is always happy.Sailed for almost an hr before i realised i didn't have my gps strapped on, wasn't gunna worry about it as i was having to much fun, but decided to make the effort and go back to shore and get it ..The rest of the crew were on fire and sailed flat chat till knock off time, all good fun cheers Ed..
Freddy Burke (12114km): Well...very humbled today, Billy made a special effort to get me on the water, called during the week advising me we were going to Kurrimine for a sail on Saturday and were leaving at 10:30....rain,hail or shine. Great drive down catching up on some gossip and generally just gasbaging. Drove through some light showers around Innisfail but Kurrimine was bright and sunny but lacking any real wind. Any way sailed for about 1.5 hours in the light conditions , Billy maybe 2 hours. Thank you Billy. Eddy also called and mentioned a few were off to Green and that if I wanted to go he would be my caddy!!! Unsure as to why all the special attention....but great to have freinds like you guys. On another note, next Saturday 24-4-21 Hans ' THE FLYING DUTCHMAN' from Tinaroo with have his ashes spread at Black Gully Road Tinaroo at 2:00pm (it was to be his birthday) so anyone who knew Hans and his stories are welcome.... 'you get me' Congratulations Benny on the pb's...well deserved. Eddy.....pity about your gps but nice numbers for the time it was on!! Kel....I know we all expect you to bring home the bacon but another great effort RRD X/FIRE 102, KA KYOTE 6.6 , 38 FIN
Billy (10673km): Dragged Freddo down to Kurramine. Didnt look that flash heading out of Innisfail, squall, overcast - pretty miserable. It was more about the journey, rather than the desination. The tides meant that we could have pretty much have stood up anywhere between the boat ramp and king reef which just perfect fo a pair of overweight, unfit seat tubbies. Caught up with "Hoppy Bob" before rigging in overcast but clearing conditions, but a very light 10-13 kts . The water conditions were just devine. Had to much downhaul on for the first 2 laps. Bloody Feddo was doing the dance and tore past me b4 I finally decide to stop and adjust. 1cm, thats all it was and it made a huge difference. We were now enjoying ourselves. Albeit light, we both got some really noice runs in and it was great to finally revist this wonderful place after a very long absence. Used: WTSB72, 43 WT, 7.8 ODM2........long drive home, with Freddo's jokes getting worse the closer to delerium/home he got .
