| Bostonfoil (17127km): Teralba, NSW, AU JPHF135 F4 SLalom foil 800 Skyscape 5.8 10-20 NW - Fun session in the usual gusty and constantly shifting westerly. Very shallow gusts so hard to set but latched on to a couple of nice ones. | ||||||||||||||||||
sboardcrazy (27035km): ![]() 3-20kts NNW-NW Whippi reserve Coal Point, NSW, AU sailed 11-15- 1.55pm - 11- 16 degrees - The cold certainly drains you.. 7m Turbo- Windtech57(90ltres) - 28cm WT weedy then WT64 ( 112ltres) - 32 WT weedy - 7m Grant st looked very patchy with big confused chop so I went to Whippi. It looked great when I was rigging but dropped as soon as I hit the water. It came back at times later on. I took the smaller board out at first as it had looked so good and I hoped it would come back in. It was great in the gusts but slogging mostly. Plenty of gybe practise. It got patchy in the lee of Rathmines so I did a Byron and stayed in the windier area. I was grabbing the mast in dodgy gybes at first but worked at the rig flip and I was pretty chuffed with some of them.. I decided it would be easier with the big board so swapped over. The best wind was in 300m on the E shore so it was interesting flying amongst the moored boats and dodging jetties as I gybed. A few times there wasn't space so I just went in shallow and stopped and turned the board around. It's a nice launch there. Some sunny sheltered spots to put gear or have lunch. After lunch I decided to work upwind and wait for a strong patch to get a good downinder back.. huh yeah right..The wind decided that once I was up it would switch off to 5-12kts..grr Slogged back and got one 15kt -18kt patch for the 2 sec on the other side. Some potential for speed over there if you can score a decent gust although you'd need a big board as it's so patchy. The last time I fell in ( couldn't get out of the harness quick enough for a wind shift /lull) I was so stuffed I could barely scramble back on the board so I figured I better come in.. Both the wind and I had enough by then. Next time I'll have to get out earlier.
It was funnelling between the Styles point and the east and pretty consistent.
Pretty dodgy down lower where I spent a lot of time. I should have worked up higher earlier but I was worried it would kick in and be a hary trip back. | ||||||||||||||||||
