Pelican Park or Bells Beach - crazy strong wind and consistent as well. Started on Blast 100 and Gun GSR 5.6, after a few downhaul adjustments changed to Patrik 87 and Gun GSR 5, still overdone in the chop but had a great sail and good to try some tuning in strong winds. Very unusual consistent westerly wind, gold ! Sailed with Ian and Scotty from MBM, nice to catch up. 2 sec done on the Blast which is fastest its been at Reddy

Super-strong south-westerly and great mid-winter sailing.

Very, very windy. Started on 5.5 and 94, but this became too much with the wind steadilly building as the afternoon went on. I eventually changed to the 80 litre wave and 4.2 as I was being lifted bodilly out of the water by the gusts. Some nice fast runs bearing off to the south east and even got a solid 27 on the wave board again.

The wind was surprisingly consistent without the normal huge hole westerlies have. The water was clean and refreshing and the sunshine bright. As the tide went out the the swells started to smooth out and spread apart, and the water gleamed brightly in the afternoon light. I normally don't like westerlies, but this was very good sailing.

Sailed with Glenn, Scotty and Simon for most of the day. Some other familiars joined from further along the beach later on. Glenn was flying on his 5.6 tuning in his small slalom gear.

Cheetah 5.5, Cross Carbon 94, S1 33. KA Wave 4.2, Acid 80, MFC freewave 25 (so happy with these boards - superb handling when the chips are down)
