Back in the weed with Waricle!!!!!! Great fun carving new channels at Pt Grey.

Went with the 55cm board, 6.2 koncept, and 20cm deltoid.

Thought about doing an hour, but had an incedent with a fisherman traling 4 lines along the channel. I just see stink boat, and think, "go behind, even if you loose a bit of ground,"

Normally a wise move, but in this case not. I went close to his stren so as not to loose too much ground. I have to hime as I drew near, but then he was doing more than waving back. Then I saw the lines, at about chest hight, ducked under them waiting for the hooks to rip the sail, but kept going without a problem. Except the fisherman then started acting weirdly. I wanted to continue with the hour, but it was obvious he wanted to talk, wind dropped a bit so thought I'd humour him. Anyway he haranged me for not seeing his lines, and couldn't understand my logic of not wanting to go just in front of a power boat. I think he thought I should have stopped. Any way that was my hour down the drain. I noticed Peter was getting into the weed at Pt Grey, I'd been avoiding it, assuming it was as thick and draggy as the stuff at Liptons. But JOY! dead smooth and no resistance, with the best wind there.

Couldn't crack 30, but it didn't matter I've really missed good slippery weed.

Glad you survived Mike.  Gotta say part of the appeal of sailing mandurah in the relative wilderness comes with the bonus of hillbilly/deliverence types in the area.  Haven't had a direct encounter like you but plenty of close/entertaining enounters shall we say.   Reg has got closer and nearly eaten.  Lets hope they are all nice people at heart.
