Great fun day on big gear. 1st time out on new big board Patrik 128 - cheers Justin Lord, and 8.6m loft racing blade - cheers Remi. Started out light but straight away on the plane and headed up the lake. Unbelievable planning in 10 odd knots with flat water i am going to love this kit. Managed a quick squirt to see a 27 odd peak on the way up and soon the wind cranked. Got hold of a decent gust to have a 30 on the dial. Had some great fun drag racing and chasing Daishy around and we both hooked up on a 20 odd knot gust and i managed a 32.26 on the dial - 31.5 knot 2 sec and 30 knot 10 second run.
Had an exciting moment having the board lifted right out the water - managed to save it lol. Decided time to head back. It took about 6 runs downwind with rolling swells and windy - happy to make it back to shore in 1 piece.
Changed to the Patrik 100 and 6.9 loft racing blade and back up the top with Daishy and Stash. Had some great runs and ended up heading along death strip - was fun but i couldn't line up a really good gust - plus knackered after the run on the big stuff.
Pretty happy with a couple of 34 knots runs along the top reed bank.
Cheers Daishy for the beer and Stash for the pizza - great saiiling with you guys today .
