Tibor (18017km): Gosford, NSW, AU
Stupid gusty NE/E but who cares when it's so nice and warm an we can be on the water.
Bostonfoil (17127km): Valentine, NSW, AU 155/ F4foil slalom 700/7.0 ENE 18-25+ Gusty as! Suckered in by only a moderate forecast rigged the 7.0 and was soon overpowered for most of the session. Still great fun but was forced off the breeze earlier than I would of preferred. Still finding the small wing no faster due to a lack of control at top speed. PB 5x10 but just couldn't find a peak today.

Ant-man (13419km): Coal Point, NSW, AU. 4.0 1250 Fanatic. Brett convinced me that it wasnt as strong as yesterday. It was and perhaps a bit more on top.
Chopper (3675km): Lake George SA AU CA 100L, 5.8 then 4.7m ka, 22 delta. Had a great day, struggled a bit towards the end of the day. Wanted to do 100k, but didn't always feel safe in the conditions, so bailed. Did the 2s on the way in, so that was lucky. All pb's are only a speck above the old pb's.
Ian Wright (16360km): Lake George, SA, AU 15-20 - 20-25+ Knots. Lots out today and some good results. Fanatic Ray 102, 19 Tectonics , JP Slalom 56, 19 Tectonics , Falcon Speed 51 , Tectonics 17 , Severne R8 Overdrive 5.7 on all 3 boards. Gradually building confidence and speed increasing with it. Happy Days
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Coal Point, NSW, AU Duotone 6.8, falcon 90, select v max 31 Windy at coal point but not at Belmont 16 and not at sand islands. Speeds are out in chop the sand islands was very shallow and flat but just not getting wind today such a shame could have been huge speeds if it was.
Bruce Healey (24292km): Lake George, SA, AU Day 2, nice SE. CASL82, 6.3 which got a bit much so went to 5.5 CASP44, 17 and 16 fins. Fo;llwed Andrew dow the Nauti, the extra long run seemed to give a runway to build the speed nicely. Not super flat but it was a bit Byronical, ie, Could have handled more wind on the down bit.
sboardcrazy (25098km): 5 mile Lake George, SA, AU- 20kts buidling to 25-28kts plus SE 6.2m M2OD- RS4 ( 112ltres) - 24cms FF then 5m Mach- 70ltre ( 48wide) Patrick - 18.5cm Atomic I overdid it yesterday and was really tired today. I was hoping for an early cruisey sail , I didn't even care if I was underpowered.Put the little sail on the big board and I was hanging on for grim death.. Did a few gybes , the last one was pretty scary as I was megapowered and then scuttled back into the launch.. Big board PB 30.8kts.. Bummer. more rigging..I was going to go 5m with the 80 for the lulls but Daffy read 28kts gust on the launch so I went the Patrick. I haven't used that board much and I think I was a bit underpowered in the lulls. It was choppier than yesterday maybe 10"- 1ft in the middle and I was bouncing everywhere and not getting upwind very well.I almost spat the dummy and gave it away after the first run across but I scored the the 36.9 on that run so I stayed out. My arms were like sphagetti and I'd bashed my elbow on a metal door hinge and it was complaining but I just took it easy and rested at each end. If you see me in the water don't use me to guage the depth.. I often kneel.. Great fun once you were in the speed run. It was pretty choppy going across so I generally took it easy until it was time to go for it but I powered on one reach and it was a bum clenceh mega powered run through 1 ft rollers.. I love that powered up bearaway feeling.. I haven't really experienced it a lot. I kept going till I thought I'd have a 5 x 10 PB yay! It's been a while since I got any Pbs. The 2 sec is my 2nd best speed ever. First use of the lcd motion. I always thought my GT31 gave me good speeds but the motion is better! I didn't have a clue and set the screen to 1sec peak.. I saw a 38.10 which was a thrill even if the 2 sec was lower.. My heart goes a bit funny when I'm really exhausted and I started to feel that way so called it quits.I didn't sail far enough in at the launch as I thought it was too shallow and I had a 100m wallow/trudge in through thigh and knee deep mud.. ugh.. Very tiring. I had been considering going back out but I couldn't face another trudge.. I'll know next time I can come in a bit further. zzzzz I hope there isn't any wind tomorrow . I need a rest!
Andrew Haigh (50238km): Lake George, SA, AU. Fanatic Falcon 79, North 6.2, Techtonics 20 Moderate distance day, with an hour attempt. Lots of people and lots of fun. |
