895 days ago Egg Island, Cape Cod. Low tide session at the inner sandbar. Light at first, then decent power on 5.5 Matrix/Skate 110/22 weedie. A barge was anchored right at the best spot for speed runs, which may have kept numbers down a bit, although I'm happy with 29 knots on the freestyle gear. Meter readings showed averages up to 28 mph, but it felt the same or lower as 23 mph readings in Cabarete (where the meters read low).
As much fun as it was, there's some bad news about Egg Island - it's now limited to low tide sessions for speed. The outer sandbar has been mostly washed away, and is now submerged before the inner sandbar. A couple of years ago, it was maybe 50-80 cm higher, and perfect for high tide runs in the "kiddie pool" right next to it. It has a couple of spots where the water broke through last year, which limited it's use to medium tide levels, but now, it will be under water at medium tide and higher. Egg Island has turned back into an island.

871 days ago up and down day with big gusts coming thru. was very overpowered at on the "ups", and with no chance to re-rig (or even sort out a tech issue that popped up) due to Candlestick curfew.
thankfully, there were few freestylers to dodge, so i was able to get fairly clear if squarish underpowered runs in the "downs".
a lot of unrealised potential this day…
