Green ISLAND FNQ  -SE-ESE 20-25 KNOTS  NEAP TIDES -WATER SUPER ROUGH AGAIN.Gear Jp slalom 62 W Evo 12 6.6 TSW 29 then tribal delta 20 .

Took a while to get comfortable today .Lots of east in the wind so hard to find a clear line . Tried charging off the wind a few times with some reasonable results but found myself backing off at the critical moment .

5 windsurfers & 3 kiters on the island today -Great to see ..!!Smile

Will sleep well tonight ...

Green Island, QLD, AU..Yeah tough day at green island went over with some of the fast Kids.. Wasn't that well perpared for the occasion as i didn't take over exactly the right toys to play with...Wind was honking hard when we got there so rigged 6.5m turbo with to much down haul as that was the only sail i took over, used 36cm fin on 105 Fox as that is the smallest fin i could find..Had a really full on chop hopping session out the front think it was the roughest sessions i have had at GI...Wasn't enough water for me to play on the drag strip till after lunch ..Fox was taking a real beating in a very rough and confused sea,It was really hard to find some where to do a gybe out in the big pool as the waves seemed to be coming from all different directions.. All you could do was go in hard and  hope for the best.. Fox did a great job of saving my sorry ass today in what felt like a very solid 25kts of breeze ..Had  one of the top panels in turbo sail blow out as i new it would ,due to the fact that it had to much down haul on and it was flogging it's self to death.Benny had some sail tape so we did a dodgy patch up job at lunch time, i asked him for some waranty on repair job and he said with a smile on his face the waranty will last about 15 minites..I has happy with that as i was thinking about 10 minites, all in the name of fun. Got on the drag strip for a few quick laps just on Hi tide but it started dropping fast so i bolted home before i destroyed some more gear..Had a great day and it was good to catch up with some of the crew..My nephew Ari sailed well today on borrowed gear.Cam and our guest sailor from sydney were going hard..But i think Benny might get man of the match..Guess it was worth rigging up for..Cheers Ed..

Green Island, Far North Tropical Paradise, QLD in Boardies

Great to be back out sailing off GI- Strong breeze all day!  Although quite challenging as it was pretty damn lumpy for Green with more East in the wind.

Sailed with Ed, Ari, Al Jamar (our super friendly Sydney winter escapee adopted team member) and the Master Dr Cam, who joined in early arvo (staying overnight in the lux suite).

Pretty sure all sailors had a great time!!!

ED was ripping around fully powered up with his usual prowess- even with a bit of a blow out in his sail's top panel!

ARI jumped on the ol' hand me down Isonic little woody 90lt with a small delta fin & sail, caressing it effortlessly over the reef flats all day long!

AL JAMAR put in a "man of the match" performance cranking out the k's whilst bearly dropping a gybe- impressive!

And speaking of impressive, DR CAM!- he broke my 5kn rule again slipping in some serious speeds straight off the bat in what could be said to be very challenging conditions!!!

As for my session- Super fun!  Took me half a dozen runs at the start to tweak the gear as I haven't sailed the smaller board/sail combo for quite a while.  Felt a bit more comfortable once dialed in and the ol' bod started warming up to the task (not that it was cold).  Had a couple of cracks for the naughty as I felt it may be the best chance of knocking out a PB considering the wind direction, but chickened out on the best run as a little squall came through- somewhat overpowered and the legs were burning towards the end of the run...

Ended up just another day in Paradise with Great Company (did I mention boardies)!

Love this time of year!!  Back for more tomorrow with the Doc!!! Cool

Used the ol' XO Turbo 67W, Severne 6.2 RD4, TSW 31
