Well that was short but it wasn't sweet. Arrived at Cobblers to find Simon and Alby waiting for a sign there might be some wind. Alby advised me to go home and get the big yellow board and biggest sail. Seemed like great advice so I did so. Rigged that combo up with the 29@45 weedy, hit the water in what looked like good wind for this combo. Half way through first run, wind dropped back fo a minute or so then picked up rapidly, blew my gybe and had difficulty water starting. Took me a while to realise I was pointing too far downwind and getting dragged round the front. I'm too used to little gear where you point too far upwind. By the time I was going again wind was getting too strong for my rig, made it into shore to wait our the squall, but that brown fresh water straight off the hills, is really cold, my tattered wetsuit didn't do much good for my legs. So called it quits before I froze.

Lot of waiting for the wind to eventuate, eventually hit the water (first outSurprised) Chugged out trying to get going  thought there might be weed on the fin.

Unfortunately there wasn't it was just no wind, so I commenced my walk back to shore, got almost all the way back and the wind kicked in so back out again.

Wind was squirrely, holey, gusty and cold. But in comparison to the water temp the breeze was positively balmy.

Came in to change to a weed fin, Mike and Pete showed infinite wisdom with saying "bugger that"after a couple of runs. about 5 mins later when the wind dropped of again I did the same without hitting the water again.
