Missed it by _that_ much
Was honking when I got there so rigged the 6.3m and 102. Was going to be epic~. Then the wind died as soon as I put my board on the water. Cursed and I blame Flex hahaha. Cruised around on and off planing for an hour or so before giving up and putting the 135 on with a 42 MK2 pointer because I couldn't be bothered re-rigging to a 7.7m or 8.7m. It was deep enough!
Blair rolled up just as I was about to head out, but he soon realised he was missing something- a sail! I gave him my rig so he could wash off the week at least since he had to be home within the hour and no time to go back and get a sail. As soon as he hit the water the wind came in. He was cooked on the way back so I went out and had half an hour of pure joy on the big gear with small sail.
Had one sweet run hitting a 37.3kt 10 second over the deeper part of the bar which must be a PB for me on a 42cm pointer. felt soooooo good.
Some nice bullets were coming though for 18 minutes and then it died again as soon as I switched back to the small board.
