Moana beach ese 10-25 knots

More adventure time today, and it was amazing, very much like they sail in France but gustier. Unfortunately we got there an hour too late, but learnt alot about this spot and what to do next time, very technical to get good times but absolutely beautiful.

New fin, board, and sail felt great again today

Just got back home. 2am in the morning here as I type. I had 1/2 litre of iced coffee at Kingston SE. Now I can't sleep. Lake George, SA, AU. Mostly wth 5.5 KARace, a 18 MUF delta, and Patrick 92 and JP 63 Speed. I'm using a different mast in the 5.5 (not KA). Alot more controlable, but still not right. Personal issue + rigging issue I think. I got the 34 2s on 5.5 + 92.

Thanks to Mick for finding my fin bolts. I lost them good didn't I ? Laughing. I don't know why I do it, but I'm in this habit of undoing the fin and forgetting about the bolts, then flipping the board over. So, that killed an hour "hunting for treasure".

Thanks George for lending me your Fangy; which, I could not fit in my Patrick because the holes didn't line up... my Patrick has a weird box. But that was very thoughtful of you Smile

Apologies to the guy I did not give way to on the speed strip when he was doing a speed run. I gybed and headed up wind on a starboard tack, but I should have dropped my sail when I saw you. You aborted your run for a few seconds and didn't look too happy. So, very sorry about that. I forgot where I was. Won't happen again !

In the end, I had a malfunction with my large boom. One of the teeth broke off the clip that holds the tail. I didn't want to be stuck in the middle of the lake with a failed rigg. So, came in, rigged the flamey blue sail with the speedie and 16 MUF Delta and had muck around. Needed more wind for this setup to be effective, But all good.

I'm just happy to be here in the knowledge that everybody comes from all parts of AU to be here, and most people are better speed sailors than me. It's awesome to see their skills and listen to their knowledge and stories.

Tried to do 100km, but the 5.5 smashed me. 92km felt like 200km.

Cheers, J

Lake George, SA, AU 15 to 20  ESE  then 20 to 25  SE  up and down all day

session 1 - 7.0 Gun, 118L FMX ( thought i was on my 98 )  had a severe brain fart as couldnt work out my my fins were spinning out. upwind downwind and in the hour which was such disaster as the wind dropped. happy that the board did 38.5 and again my garmin said 27.8 alpha but only coming in at 26.

havent had such inconsistent results for a while. gets me bit too excited.

seesion 2 FMX 52 cm wide 74 L with 6.3 gun and 20 delta sym. instantly faster wow what a surprise. but wind dying off, missed the best part I think

Overall loads of super smooth water and could have a cup of tea while dong 38/40 knots.
